ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

I really don't get people complaining that Howard "fought like a girl," even if he did. The fact is, he fought. He should be fired immediately. That he hasn't been will be a stain on the University of Michigan athletic program henceforth.

What a disgusting situation.
Oh, make no mistake, the fact that he even tried to get physical is the main point. The fact that he swung like a pre-teen girl is just funny.

I didn't didn't know about the full court press with 15 seconds to go, disregard my last post

Yeah - the reason for the timeout was because Wisconsin had backups in. Someone said walk-ons, and that may be true. I don't know that I'd have walk-ons in, but I'm not a basketball coach. Or a coach of anything. So whatever. Anyway, Wisconsin had backups in, and *ichigan was in a full-court press. Howard called it something else and tried to play it off like, "That's just our defense. That's what we call it." Look, a duck is a duck. They were playing press coverage on Wisconsin's half of the court - I call it full-court press. Wisconsin wasn't able to cross half court and a *ichigan player knocked it out of bounds. I didn't know this, but the rule is that the 10-second clock to get the ball past half court doesn't reset unless the coach calls a time-out. So he had 4 seconds left to get the ball across half court, with backups in the game, against a full-court press, OR he can call a timeout.

It's as dumb as a baseball coach getting mad that he's down 7 in the top of the 9th, and the other team's baserunner goes from 2nd to 3rd base on a pass ball.
Or... what's the equivalent in football? Maybe it's 3rd and 10, and the 3rd stringer quarterback who has never played but he's been with the team forever and all the coaches love his spirt and all the players look up to him - he throws a pass for a first down on the last play of the game.
Or maybe in hockey - the other team is up 2-1 in the last minute of the game, you pull your goalie to try to get a desperation goal, and the other team's goalie makes a save and shoots it down the ice and into your goal.
Cry about the unspoken rules. Or I guess some people get physical about it.

They should give basketball coaches a baseball for the game.

Other coach breaks an unwritten rule...drill him.
