TSUN's next Head Football Coach - 2011

In all honesty, is scUM really a better job than Mizzou at this point? At Mizzou, he's already appreciated for taking the program to heights it hadn't experienced in decades, is establishing recruiting inroads in a decent talent hotbed (IL), is probably the top dog now in a weak division and has to deal with moderate expectations.

Take the scUM job and he has a total rebuild on his hands in a program that fancies itself still elite when in reality, they haven't been a player on the national scene for the better part of two decades. I'd stay in Columbia.

Fair enough.

I'm simply shocked he hasn't even been mentioned by anyone as a potential good hire by Michigan. At the very least they should be asking to interview this guy.

Yeah, but expecting Michigan Man to make an honest assessment of what their present program is is the height of ridiculous. I mean.... when you are rooting for a team which not only lost to an D-IAA team when they were still good... a team which lost to a Toledo team that was so bad they fired their coach.... and you refuse to make an honest assessment, and instead really on old talismanic phrases and appeals to pre WWI greatness as "evidence" that you're still legit...
Meh.... fuck em.

The Big XII just got a whole lot tougher for Missouri actually. The divisions are gone, and they plan on going with a full 9-game round robin. Instead of having to just beat Nebraska and the survivor of the Big XII South, now they have to run the gauntlet of Texas, Oklahoma, & Oklahoma State to try to get to a BCS bowl... Heck, even Aggy and Tech are usually tougher than what made up most of Missouri's old division.

But, yes, if I were a Michigan fan it'd [censored] me off my best shot at success was hiring someone from Ohio.

Not me, I thank Ohio for Schembechler. Also thank Ohio for Desmond, Charles Woodson, and all the other great Wolverines that came from Ohio. I would love it alot if a coach from Ohio came here and found success at Michigan. Basically just give the middle finger to Ohio. That's just me though.

Give the middle finger to the state that provides all your success? I guess that's one perspective. Such a shame that Michigan can't produce it's own.

That's unfair, muffler. They're highly productive in many areas. Why, Michigan produces sufficient misery to supply not only its own needs, but those of the entire nation.

No the Defectors give the middle finger:biggrin:. Ohio is a football state. Michigan isn't. Michigan does produce good players but not at the rate of Ohio. It's such a shame of the great high school players the past 4-5 years or so that have not gone to Michigan from the state of Michigan. Michigan has done poorly and need to clean that up. Michigan struggling to get the 2nd tier guys in Ohio as well. In the past those guys were all over Michigan and played with a chip on their shoulder when it came to The Game. I really hope our next coach understands this and starts with Michigan, then Ohio, Midwest, then Cali,Florida, etc.
