TSUN's next Head Football Coach - 2011

I'm in the boat of people that thinks for UM this is a good hire. Better than Miles in fact. Lester was a bigger name and would probably be able to recruit better in the beginning to get things turned around but who knows how much longer he's going to coach and how well he will handle a rebuilding situation. Hoke probably views this as his dream job, and will probably do his best to invigorate the rivary much like Tressel did for us in 01. Give him a couple years and Hoke will have them respectable again, after a couple more maybe able to compete for a B10 championship if he's able to bring in some top recruits. I want to see what kind of staff they line up though first.

I think hoke will have success in a few years and I also think it shows us scUM doesn't have a completely incompetent AD anymore.

scUM's AD is fucking clueless. The scUM old guard wanted Harbaugh in the worst way and Brandon failed to deliver. Salary would've been no object...boosters would've saw to it that Harbaugh got what he wanted. Brandon couldn't even get "Michigan Man" Miles to nibble at the job. Instead, they wind up with a head coach unknown to most casual colege football fans.

Hoke will have some success and may even get them to an 8-4 or 9-3 level, but my confidence factor in Tressel ending up 13-1 against Michigan when JT steps down after the 2014 season just got even higher.

Allstate should use Brandon's hiring searchs as one of their mayhem commericials...

This was a great hire. Hoke is proven at taking dogshit programs and bringing them to a point of respectability. Michigan being currently a dogshit program, Hoke is exactly what they needed.

Three or four years from now, the then-mediocre Michigan program can once again get delusions of grandeur and try to hire Bill Belichick, or whomever.

I posted this on another thread -- one that isn't getting any hits anymore -- my translation of Brandon's statement earlier this week when Harbaugh and Miles were still on the screen:

Translation for those of you who don't speak Brandon ADese:
"Coaches are an interesting, intense group,"
(I can't get anyone to answer the phone or tweet back, let alone sit down and talk. They all claim they're getting ready for a bowl game or on a recruiting trip)
"and although this interviewing process is time-consuming and somewhat demanding,"
(I thought they'd be pounding on my door.)
"it is an honor to represent Michigan"
(let's throw some bull shit boiler plate in there to make it sound like this isn't about my ego)
"and discuss our football program's needs and opportunities"
"Geeeze, whut a fuckin' mess. If I had Bill Martin here I'd throttle his ass with a vice grip.)
"with a variety of impressive candidates"
(None of whom seem to want this job)
"and/or people who can offer valuable advice and input."
(folks who are so below the radar that I'd get my balls shoved up my colon by rich alums if I hired them)
"The process is proceeding with careful consideration"
(I'm dancing as fast as I can)
"as to the qualifications, commitment, effectiveness and passion"
(We're Michigan and we own college football)
"that various candidates would bring to our program."
('cause we sure don't want to get another train wreck in here)
