There are plenty of idiots around BP that whine about how great a playoff is. Well, this is what happens with a playoff--pathetic teams like TSUN hit a lucky streak and are the beneficiary of favorable officiating and wind up playing for a title.

Are you comparing a 68 team watered down basketball tournament to a 4 team playoff to decide a national champion in football and calling those who support a 4 team playoff idiots?

Ehh, very rarely does the best team in the nation actually win it all. If UM wins Monday it doesn't make them the best team, just the hottest team at the end of the year.

I will say one thing. There are two kind of teams that win the championship. Usually a 1 seed wins the championship. The North Carolinas, the Dukes, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan St, Florida, UNLV, the Kentucky teams in 1996 and last year, Bob Knight teams were usually 1 seeds that won it all, and the list goes on. The lower seeds usually had the best player in the country. Syracuse in 2003 had Carmelo Anthony. The Connecticut team had Kemba Walker. Michigan had Glenn Rice in the late 80s. Arizona is an outlier. But they had Bibby and Simon that took out 3 number 1 seeds,so their road to the championship wasn't easy.

We still have a Louisville, who is a number 1 seed. If they play their best, then another 1 seed wins the title game. Michigan arguably has the best player in the country. Go figure, huh. Having said all that, Louisville better win.

Yes, it really is a shame that our arch rival isn't playing for a title against the 9-seed that knocked us out. Who wouldn't want them to get that over us too?

Lurch did not impress me at all. I know he racks up numbers, but that is one awkward, slow-footed guy. Always seemed to be out of position on defense and just hovered around the free throw line with his arms up like an overeager jr. high player while on offense. His ability--for a big man--to make some very crisp assists seemed to be his only redeeming factor.

I can't help but notice you felt the need to add '4 team' when 07 made no such mention. That suggests to me that you are well aware that your argument is likely weak so you had to spice it up with some fallaciousness.
