TSUN: How many regular season wins?

buckeyesin07;1511002; said:
Yes, I do. I see them beating WMU, EMU, Del St., Purdue and Indiana.

Which of the following do you think UM will defeat (assuming you think they'll win the games listed above) in order to get to 6 wins: ND, @MSU, @Iowa, PSU, OSU, @Illinois, @Wisconsin?

I really see us beating ND, I mean I've never saw team outplay another as much as michigan outplayed ND last year and still lost like we did. Our offense didn't have troubles moving the ball against them last year (turnovers aside). Our D will step up and play a little better than last year, offense won't make as many mistakes...In the big house we will get the W.

We won't lose to MSU...nuff said.

I really don't know that much about Iowa.

Obviously we could beat Wisky, Illinois is beatable.

As for OSU and PSU... I think PSU is over rated, but will still beat us.

as for the game that needs no introduction...40th anniversary of you know what =) What a great November day that would make

Wisconsin L
Ohio State L (BIG)

That's 3-9 again with 3 blow outs. UM may surprise me and beat WMU but that's it as far as any more wins go. This team is going to be miserable on D and relying on a true freshman (even if he has been "Barwisized") to run their gimicky offense.

We can talk about strength of conference and what Rich Rod did when he was in the Big East all we want...fact is Rich Rod is taking a proud program and making them a punch line. Michigan fans need to come to terms with that.

Wow, no wonder people listen to analysts on TV. Picking games like that and backing it up with your reasons proves how little some people know.

I believe, absolutely, that they will have less than 6 wins. It is entirely possible that they have less than 5.

yes it is possible. I'm just curious, what leads you to believe they will only win 5 games??? Personally I think we will run the OOCS no problem.

My reasons are simple. UMs strength last year was supposed to be their defense and it wasn't. UM lost 6 starters off that defense. Am I supposed to believe that the defense is going to be stronger this year especially since it seems to be completely ignored by your head coach?

UM is starting a true freshman at QB. Forcier is a small player playing in an offense that beats up QBs. If Tate makes it to the Ohio State game I'll be shocked. I know that the fastest man on the planet is backing him up (DRob) but he's also a true freshman, right?

UM is fragile psychologically right now. You can hear it every time Rod opens his mouth. How will players and coaches react when the boo birds come out on September 5 when WMU is putting points on the board?

Those are just reasons off the top of my head. I know they aren't great reasons like "We won't lose to MSU. Nuff said." but I think they are valid. I'm not sure where this confidence is coming from with you. I watched a lot of football last season and UM was the most fundamentally challenged team I've seen in years.

It's because I don't have to write a preview of why we will beat State (it was also intended to be humor because MSU thinks they are such hot stuff and that they match our tradition). I mean we almost beat them last year, probably should have if it wasn't for a BS pass interference call that flip flopped that whole game. They lose Ringer and Hoyer. I would give us a 90% chance to beat them.

As to your comments about the offense ysubuck, RR's offense THRIVES on having a qb that is able to throw ON the run. It will make a world a' difference having the personnel to do this. Yes the freshman will make young mistakes. Another thing to remember is RR's offense is one that allows younger players to play and have success more so than other schemes.

I would agree that the offense looked fundamentally challenged last year, and I honestly think it boils down to qb play and not being able to throw on the run and make the correct reads.

It's because of this kinda crap that makes you people so much fun to hate...and laugh at. We thought last year would humble you. It didn't. :slappy:

Now, with all the stuff you spew above, still no mention of the DEFENSE. That will be the undoing. I see 5-6 wins.

I didn't talk defense because I didn't feel like typing a big write up about them lol.

I really don't think last years defense was that horrible. There were a couple factors which led me to think like this. How many 3 and outs did we have? How good was the opponents field position? How many turnovers did we have? etc. all of which led to poor d.

It's hard to watch if your a defensive player when you give it your all and make a stop on defense to sit there and watch your offense go 3 and out. (we did those how many times last year)

It's so easy to get fired up and play defense after your team drives down the field and scores, we didn't do that much either last year.

Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers...How many times did our offense leave the D out to dry?

You've got to get the D rest, you have to sustain some timely offensive possessions. How many in-game rest did our defense get last year? not much

I could keep going on with similar reasons. I'm glad with what Robinson brings to the table and I thought it was a great hire RR made. As for the people we lost on the defensive side of the ball, I don't really see any significant losses with the exception of Terrance Taylor. I'm kind of happy that Trent is gone because now Boubbacar steps in. I was never really sold on Trent.

I'm just saying that I think if our offense improves at all, it will help our defense out. Too many times last year the offense put the defense in a hole.

I actually watched that entire game, and from my vantage point, the game wasn't nearly as close as the two TD final spread would lead one to believe. Then again, I haven't been gulping down the RR Kool Aid recently like some others have.

Really? In East Lansing? If you flip those odds (UM has about a 10% chance of winning), I'd agree.

Let me fill in the rest for you, as I know it's coming--"and Forcier is a master at throwing on the run and making the correct reads. Once you factor in that RR's offense is one that allows younger players to play and have success and that Forcier's a true freshman, you must conclude that UM will win at least 8 or 9 games this season."

Do I about have it?

Do you really want to complain about the reffing in that game? REALLY?

TSUN tied the game early on a phantom ruling from the replay booth, overturning the correct call on the field that the receiver was out of bounds.

That was quite simply one of the worst fucking calls in the history of college football, and that's saying something.

The intro to this also shows a reason for RR's job security: a new coach = automatic 'L' to Little Brother.

The shit you bring to this board is just weak.

We were driving down the field on that possession anyways and yes i will complain about officiating.

Yes since East Lansing is such a hard place to play...

Never said anything about Forcier being a master, hell i never even claimed him as the starter, although either qb's running capabilities will definetly help (i suppose you will be ignorant and disagree).
