TSUN: How many regular season wins?

A little over a month ago before I was banned from MGoBlow, they had a season prediction thread and I was generous and guessed 7-5. Upon further review and hearing first reports from their spring camp, I'm revising that to 5-7:

Sep. 05 Western Michigan .... W
Sep. 12 Notre Dame .......... L
Sep. 19 Eastern Michigan .... W
Sep. 26 Indiana ............. W
Oct. 03 at Michigan State ... L
Oct. 10 at Iowa ............. L
Oct. 17 Delaware State ...... W
Oct. 24 Penn State .......... L
Oct. 31 at Illinois ......... L
Nov. 07 Purdue .............. W
Nov. 14 at Wisconsin ........ L
Nov. 21 Ohio State .......... L

Fuck Michigan.

That's exactly what I came up with. Though, WMU will be no gimme. They may very well drop that one too.

That looks right to me as well.

2-6 in the Big Ten...maybe, maybe they get 1 of PSU, ILL, and IOWA.

Western Michigan L
Ntre Ame L (BIG)
Eastern Michigan W
Indiana W
Michigan St. L
Iowa L
Delaware St. W
Penn State L (BIG)
Illinois L
Purdue Toss Up (but if I have to pick....L)
Wisconsin L
Ohio State L (BIG)

That's 3-9 again with 3 blow outs. UM may surprise me and beat WMU but that's it as far as any more wins go. This team is going to be miserable on D and relying on a true freshman (even if he has been "Barwisized") to run their gimicky offense.

We can talk about strength of conference and what Rich Rod did when he was in the Big East all we want...fact is Rich Rod is taking a proud program and making them a punch line. Michigan fans need to come to terms with that.

Well, I guess Michigan might as well save themselves the embarrassment of going 3-9 again and cancel the regular season.

I see them beating Purdue and WMU. I'll go with 5-7.

I'm not saying they should do that. I am saying that Michigan fans shouldn't get their hopes up for much more than a 4 win season in 09. It's funny to read threads about how they have the best backs in the Big 10 and how Barwis is God and how Denard Robinson is the fastest recruit in the history of the Big 10.

Remember, other coaches have taken over programs and implemented their offensive philosophies without driving out very talented players and losing to teams like Toledo. RichRod has definitely put his mark on Michigan already!

Including the bowl 7 would be the answer. Including only the regular season it's either 6 or 7... I guess I'll go with 6, though I can see WMU, MSU & ILL going differently than below:

WMU - W
ND - L
EMU - W
IU - W
MSU - L
Iowa - L
Del St - W
PSU - L
ILL - L
Purd - W
Wisc - W
OSU - L

WMU -- W
ND -- L
EMU -- W
Indiana -- W
@MSU -- L
@Iowa -- L
Delaware St. -- W
Penn State -- L
@Illinois -- L
Purdue -- W
@Wisconsin -- L
Ohio State -- L

Shoot. I just went all-in on a vbet that UM would win 6 games this year. I just don't see it happening, though, even with that pathetic excuse for a schedule. :lol:

Let's be realistic guys... Do you honestly think UofM will have under 6 wins?

Did I think they would win less than 6 last season? Hell no, I thought there was no damn way a program like MICHIGAN could tank like that in one season.

I have since learned not to underestimate the DickRod factor.

5-7

they should not have lost to Toledo, Purdue or NW last year, but they did. Given Tate's size, if he gets hurt, all guesses are out the window.

there are a lot of um fans that think 6 wins is a solid season. I think they'll win 7, but 5 certainly isn't impossible after last year.

Yes, I do. I see them beating WMU, EMU, Del St., Purdue and Indiana.

Which of the following do you think UM will defeat (assuming you think they'll win the games listed above) in order to get to 6 wins: ND, @MSU, @Iowa, PSU, OSU, @Illinois, @Wisconsin?
