No comments so far on Shoelace's fumble? The play where he was scrambling to avoid a sack, got away and leaned down with the hand holding the bell to keep his balance. His problem was the ball stayed on the ground and was jumped on by the defender for an Iowa recovery.

And so many idiot announcers often say that the ground can't cause a fumble.

I thought he was just intentionally underholding onto it.

the only difference between RR's squads and this one is that they got to avoid wisconsin this year, and ND proved to be more inept than michigan this year. otherwise, it's a rinse and repeat.
Pretty much. They've traded off offensive fireworks for a horribly miscast hairlice and a deplorable defense for a slightly better version...which is mostly a product of additional experience/growth and scrapping the laughable 3-3-5 debacle.

They're better for getting rid of an abortion of a defensive scheme, but still not all that good. I'm not sold on their long term qb situation either. Hairlice will always be a scat-back masquerading as a qb, and what I've seen of Gardner isn't anything for them to get excited about either.
