TSUN 28, Michigan St. 24 (final)

LOL. You beat an average MSU team. The victory really doesn't demand any bragging privileges unless you know that your team is average as well. Please get over yourself. And oh, get ready for the spanking that's coming your way in two weeks. It won't be pretty, but at least you were warned. :wink2:

Each pass that Mannigham caught in those last few drives the MSU defender made a mistake. Both touchdown catches the defender stopped to make the play on the ball instead of just hanging with him and making the play on the ball a little later.

I disagree. The MSU players failing to find the ball and make a play on it is what cost them. God love 'em, they may be 5'5" and have no vertical leap, but they could've still made the play if they would've just made a play on the ball instead of trying to stay in front of their man.

I agree failing to find the ball and make a play on it is what cost them, but it looked to me like they stopped running on the plays and went for the ball to early...

Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Beating Michigan State is always worth bragging rights. That's why it's called a rivalry. Ohio State doesn't have an in-state rival, more's the pity, because college football is more fun when you do. Who do you talk smack to otherwise? Me?

Who needs an in-state rival, when we have THE GAME.

I got one person telling me I shouldn't take pride in winning a big in-state rivalry game because MSU is an average team at best, and I got another taking pride in beating the likes of Kent State and Youngstown State. I hardly know how to peg you Buckeye fans sometimes.

Well, we have THE GAME too, and I still like it better having the Spartans around.

I hardly understand the MSU v. Michigan rivalry, but I'm hard pressed to figure a way that H2M shouldn't be enjoying the win.

OSU crushed PSU last week in the closest thing OSU has to a secondary Rivalry (unless you want to count Illinois (the Illi-buck is on the line next week)) and we all seemed to enjoy that quite enough despite the fact that PSU isn't a bunch of world beaters.

Scum should enjoy this win. It is /should be why you play football. ergo. to win and have fun. What good is it to play and not win? that would be ;osing wouldn't it? Anyway today they played a pumped up team at home and beat them . Hoyer lost the first half with crappy passing. The NSU D lost the last quarter and Henne was great in the 4th. Good win , enjoy it.

Well, to hell with it,

Don't enjoy your win in a Rivalry game - see if we care :)

I'll explain a little bit....UM/MSU is a different in-state rivalry than most (such as Auburn/Alabama) because it's so one-sided, and Spartan fans HATE us for it. More so, I think, than UM/OSU because we live and work side-by-side, and UM/OSU isn't historically one-sided, so there's more respect. Someone mentioned once on here that there's a unique breed of Michigan fan found only in Ohio, that roots for Michigan mainly in order to spite OSU. Well, those people live in Michigan too, only they're Michigan State fans. They root for State to spite Michigan. They actually will tell you that the App State loss was the best thing that ever happened to them as a Spartan fan. Those people are what make it fun to beat MSU. They're the roughly 1/3 of MSU fans that probably went to Western or Ferris State, and when Bo died last year, expressed the opinion that he could rot in hell.

That and I've got plenty of friends that are Spartan fans, and I get blissful silence until basketball season :)
