Yeah, should have been more detailed. I would have thought that was implied.....guess I wrong.

One miracle mixed in between a whole bunch of mediocrity and if 1997 happened today Woodson gets nailed for taking money from an agent, gives back his Heisman and your 1/2 a NC.

zwem;2245199; said:I love Nebraska fans. However, Michigan didn't need a hell of a lucky break to win a game. A game you guys should have lost. You guys struggled to put Colorado away. Michigan held that same Colorado team to 3 points that season.
You may have been right with Nebraska killing Michigan. However, how many games have we seen where the other team is suppose to kill the other only to lose that game. Plus Michigan's defense was special that year.
Have nothing but respect for Nebraska. Great program and cool fans.

The 1997 TSUN team was exceptional, but using common opponents to analyze a match-up only works if you actually analyze the performances; not if you just look at the scores.
The ability to hold Colorado to 3 points is not relevant when the opponent is Nebraska. Giving up 24 points to the same Colorado team doesn't say much when it's the TSUN offense you're facing. Similarly, scoring the same number of points on the Buffaloes (27) does not tell us the the teams had similar offenses. They didn't.
If you want to analyze the match-ups and dig into why the two games unfolded the way they did, have at it. You might want to do that via pm though. Otherwise you'll have half the board mucking up the conversation with who-gives-a-[Mark May] posts. (Because we really don't)
