They will be the best defense Michigan faces so far this year. They aren't great though.

I'm not delusional. Far from it.

This sarcasm? Their defense recruiting is horrible.:)

The players they have on the starting defense. Walk ons, low 3 stars, running backs converted to linebackers, safeties converted to line backers, wide outs converted to corner backs, no dts being recruited. Players transferring faster than Kim Kardashian getting nailed. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you can't have this happen if you want to have a good defense. That's just me though.

We should have field day with them. The way Denard has been playing he'll be crowned the Heisman winner (by the media) before the official ceremony. If he stays out of harms way...

If you are talking about Michigan, then this might be the first post where I have seen a buckeye fan blaming the quality of players of Michigan on defense and not Rich Rod or the defensive coordinator. Of course I think it is a combo problem. I'm sure you think it is Rich Rod's fault as well NF.

I was talking about IU's defense. As for um's issues, I think it's a combination of scheme and recruiting. DickRod's defensive recruiting has been lackluster, to be kind...and that's before the attrition. Some of it was Carr's recruiting at the end, but not to the extent many um fans/pundits want to believe. The 3-3-5 is a horrible fit for the current personnel on the roster and that's an issue too. In short, it's a giant mess and there's no quick fix. Their refusal to budge from this scheme is a hinderance not just to the product on the field, but also the proper development of the limited resources on hand. It's gonna take multiple solid recruiting classes defensively to get out of the sludge.
