From all accounts, this was a tragic accident. I'm sure no one feels worse than the truck driver. Let's await the reconstruction report before we label this guy Freddy Kruger.

No shit. Some of you act like the driver spends all day speeding through school zones, attempting to murder kids and crossing gaurds. This incident is tragic and unfortunate. But isn't the job of the fucking crossing gaurd to MAKE SURE the street is safe to cross? You're little stop sign on a stick isn't a force-field.

And to those who are taking shots at truck drivers in general...fuck you. I see people everyday, cutting off guys in six-axle trucks with full (legal) loads. I hear people bitch "they think they own the road"...guess what? THEY DO! They are on the clock driving, doing NECESSARY jobs to keep scociety going forward. It's not a pretty job, and they rarely get anything but shit from the general public, but if not for the "less intelligent" truck drivers, construction workers, and such, you'd all be fucked.

I'm not saying it's not. I'm saying why have a FUCKING CROSSING GAURD if everyone always understands that burden and acts with appropriate respect for the kids? Answer: They don't. Therefore, she should MAKE SURE the crosswalk is safe before she sends kids accross.
