From a Yankee Why do you need a months worth of toilet paper milk and bread for an event lasting a week on the outside?

depending on where you live and how bad the storm damages surrounding area, sometimes it can be a bitch to get regular supplies like this for well after the storm is over.

shipping regular everyday goods like this becomes more scarce when it has to go into or pass through a disaster area.

it took a long time after Katrina for stores (not named Walmart) to be able to fully stock their shelves.
mainly because everything coming into South Louisiana passes through Nola. and that just wasn't an option for a while.

I travel often to the islands that have been hit, particularly the USVI and BVI. Keep them in your thoughts please.

This is what is left of Ivan's on Jost Van Dyke. I spent a great day there in June with a group of Buckeye friends.
