Tristen Wallace (WR Prairie View A&M)

Very strong arm but he will have to adapt here...always throwing on the run to the point where I almost never see him set his feet and square up to the target. He also has a tendency of side-arming the ball instead of getting that over the top delivery you would like to see. Also a little indecisive when he is running the ball. I see a lot of tools here but the coaches are going to have to spend plenty of time with him to get him ready for this level of football.

Good thing he's not going to a program that would have to rely on him to play soon. After a more than likely redshirt year, it will still take another year and possibly 2 to see the field, which could honestly work in his favor

Agreed on this - his footwork is surprisingly undeveloped. Just no consistency, no balance, etc. I'm not trying to rain on the guy but I expected better mechanics. He's got the athleticism, he keeps his eyes down the field which is a huge, huge plus for a HS QB, and has the arm strength where once he fixes his mechanics it'll take off....but asking a QB to rehaul their mechanics completely is a lot to ask. Definitely worth the shot with Tristen but I went into his tape expecting to see more of a finished product and I ended up feeling we are getting a raw, sit a few years type.

Agreed. He needs a lot of work. The good news is that he'll have time since JT is slotted to be here two more years with the Gibson/Burrow waiting in the wings.

Agreed 100%. Luckily I don't think he will be called upon too early and we can develop him, but I can see why there were options 1a versus 1b. Henry , Guarantano, and Haskins were just so far ahead in mechanics and overall intangibles imo. Not that I don't see plenty of potential here, I just can see a stark contrast in the film at this point.

I think the thing missing in film review is intangibles- leadership, competitiveness, work ethic, embracing competition rather than avoiding it- I'm willing to bet Wallace is heads and shoulders above others in the class in these categories which is why Ohio State pursued an early commitment so hard.

Is there writing on the wall with Wallace. Beck is going after another 2016 QB. Current Louisville commit, Columbia (Tenn.) Spring Hill quarterback Tylin Oden

Word is, Tristen has stayed in contact with the Baylor staff. Nothing to worry about at the moment, but can't hurt to have a relationship built with another prospect incase something were to change.
