Trev Alberts - AD at Univ. of Omaha

OSUBucks22

No touching!
someone on BN is saying that a former Buckeye will be the one to replace Trev sitting next to our old buddy Mark May. he said he wasn't at liberty to say at this point, but it was someone who isn't currently working in broadcasting and someone that we wouldn't necessarily be happy with. guesses by people are ranging from Speilman to John Cooper to Maurice Clarett. my money is on either Robert Smith or Eddie George. but i'm not sure why we wouldn't be happy with Eddie.

So I take it Lou Holtz was a temp?
they said they would be hiring internally for the rest of the season or until a full time guy could be found. I think Holtz will still stay on as an analyst.

I watched a segment of his the other day and he actually said things that made you believe he has a good football mind. That's the first I've ever seen him do that. Usually it's spit and stupidity, this time it was just spit.

If they say it is not going to make us happy that can only be about one person and that would Clarrett. I don't think they are going to bring him.

I don't think there is anyother buckeye player or coach I would mind having on there. I don't think it is cooper b/c he already does games and I don't think he is fiery enough that type of show anyways.

I would love for it to be spielman but he is already employed by Espin.

i'm with you I can't think of another football buckeye that wouldn't do us proud (besides clarett & possibly cooper)...unless it is derick ross

now Basketball is another story....

If it was going to be a former Buckeye and he's supposed to 'upset us'..the guy that makes sense is Robert Smith...but I don't know if he is currently in broadcasting right now.

Smith backed Clarrett's story when ESPiN ran it and has some not so kind words to say about the school in the past...

just my .02 cents.

Smith would also be one of the few people with the natural talent to jump into a studio show as their first broadcasting gig. He's always managed to give interesting interviews with unique points of view. If they're looking for an independent voice, he's got one. :tongue2:

Someone at ESPN was reading Moneyball and decided that they too would look to replace high priced ageing talent with younger cheaper personnell who could give close to or equal production. So essentially they were looking around and asking "ok, who can do Trev's job but for a lot less money?"

Finally, they did indeed decide on a Buckeye but it was a real fucking Buckeye.... as in the kind that falls off a Buckeye tree.

Therin lies the confusion of the rumor.:wink2:
