Trading Kevin Garnett?!

Larry Hughes is pretty much going to have to be in any large deals the Cavs make. I read the Cavs are interested in dealing for Bibby, but Sacramento doesn't want to take Hughes, but he's really the only one with the contract that will work(I can't imagine a scenario where someone would be willing to take Z's contract).

The whole team and the coach couldn't get that deal done.....:)

If we can keep Lebron also, I'll take it! It would be addition by subtraction getting Brown outta here. We'll just have to pick up a bunch of free agents who can play defense and pass the ball to King and the Big Ticket. I smell championships.

I would too. No way I take Marion for Garnett. Marion is not a player you re-build around. He's a pippen caliber role player. He's an all star, but he isn't a team leader IMO. He also won't sell tickets as well as Amare would.

Amare or bust if I'm Minnesota. Phoenix is desparate to get under the cap, so try and force their hand into giving up Amare. If it doesn't work, then you keep KG for another year and try again.

This is by far the best trade scenario that I have heard involving KG. I think that all the teams would benefit tremendously from this trade. I could really see this one going down and the thought of Phoenix getting KG to add to Nash and Stoudemire is disturbing.

This is from SI.COM quoting the Chicago Tribune as it's source:

All the particulars aren't established, but the basics are the Suns get Kevin Garnett, the Celtics get Shawn Marion and the Timberwolves get the No. 5 pick, the Hawks' unprotected first-round pick for next season, which the Suns hold, the Suns' two firsts this year (No. 24 and 29) and the expiring contracts of Kurt Thomas and Theo Ratliff.

Amare and Marion supposedly have trouble co-existing in Phoenix. I guess I'm having a hard time understanding how an Amare/KG co-existence would be any better.

Celtics fans have to love that deal, getting Marion just for the #5 (which they don't seem to like anybody at that spot anyhow).

Also, four first rounders, including two that would likely be top fives after the Hawks inevitably suck again this year, would be very good starting blocks for Minny's rebuild. Interesting all around indeed.

From what everyone has been saying, Marion has a Jose Canseco-esque ego and needs to be the top dog at all times. That wasn't going to happen in Phoenix, where the top dog is still Steve Nash.

KG and Amare together with Nash feeding them the ball is going to be something watch if this happens...

If the suns can make this happen, they are going to be scary on offense. I mean they still can not stop anyone but damn are they going to be fun to watch.

Nash/barbosa/daiw/kg/amare

that is one bad ass team.

Nice idea but I can't see Minnesota going for any deal with LA, regardless of how many teams are involved in the trade, the Lakers don't really have that much to offer.

Actually the TWolves don't get anything from the Lakers. They want what Boston was offering and the rumor is Boston ships the same players to Minnesota (Jefferson and #5) so really Minnesota doesn't care what the Lakers give up cuz they get what they want. Garnett's replacement AND the #5 pick.

The only thing I can't figure out is why is Boston going for this. Cuz they end up trading Jefferson and #5 for Jermaine O'Neal??? Maybe Danny Ainge is suicidal and wants some Boston fans to try to kill him.

If Ainge makes this trade and only gets this in return he is out of his mind and will no doubt lose his job.

Exactly. No good for the Celtics. I also think the Wolves can do better.
