Recently, guard dominated teams have had good runs in the NCAAs, thats not to say they didn't have that one guy in the middle but with the 3 point line, its changed the game.

If we are going to have any success these last few games and in the tournament, Dials has to be more consistent.

Did you see the way our over matched team beat Illinois with much less talent last season? That team went on to the finals, I think there aren't any teams in college basketball as good as that Illinois squad last season.
Yeah, we were over-matched. Which is why people call games like that upsets.
No one but UNC 'beat' Illinois last year; we won a last second, clutch shot by Sylvester. And if it weren't for Sylvester's clutch shooting and Dials' dominance inside (he and Sylvester scored 46 of our 65 points), we could've very well lost that game by 20+.
3 pointers neutralize the big man advantage, I think this team can make a run deep into the tourney. If these guys are playing their best basketball, I think they can make the final 4.
I think they can too, if Dials steps it up and plays like the dominating force we all know he can be. Like I said before, we won't be able to shoot 75% from outside every night.

Tell that to Greg Oden.

I have never said that inside presence doesnt help, but guard play is more important IMO.

But guys like Oden make it a lot easier on the guards, so it can go either way, but there is still the fact that the big guy can only dominate if he has the ball and who are the people that have to get him the ball.

In a way it is kinda like football while WR's can make a team good, Your QB play is most important, no QB no passing game even if you have Randy Moss on the outside.

Correct...if you don't have a guard that can feed the ball to Oden, he's not going to be a factor.

March of 1999. Final Four. No dominant center. Most of the tourney we ran a 3 guard set, with Scoonie, Redd and Brown.
