As smart as Herman supposedly is, he seems to fall into ruts with play calls that are ridiculously predictable and terrible choices against pretty much any semi-competent defense. Some of that (maybe a lot) comes back around to Urban for not saying "No, we're not calling that." When players don't execute flawlessly, it looks even worse.

I think Tom Herman is a very good offensive coordinator. It's hard to argue with the overall stats over two years. However, I think he's one of those guys that gets locked inside his own head when things get tough. He gets tunnel vision, hammers away on a square peg sitting over a round hole, and can't get away from what he thinks should work.

???? If we didn't have best Q1 scoring differential last year, we were top five.

2 games in with an extremely green team a trend does not make.

I agree it's rather frustrating this year. I have a hard time believing Rod Smith or Brionte Dunn can't provide some type of power running game.....

Although we definitely experienced more success than Rich Rod, we seem to be replicating his strategy of trying to force a spread offense in the Big Ten while playing next to no defense.

Honestly I wonder how effective Germans offense is without a superfreak athlete like braxton
