Like Tressel said about his offensive struggles in 2004, it's not just one thing. For starters, the OL hasn't performed in 2015 as they did in 2014. They started Cardale but didn't tailor the offense to his strengths. They wasted a lot of plays trying to run Braxton from the wildcat when everyone was prepared for it. JT Barrett was injured and couldn't practice for six months, hasn't played as well this year as last, and made a selfish mistake that hurt the team and set himself back again. Injuries also took a toll. They could have really used Corey Smith this year. Braxton has shown flashes is still pretty raw as a WR. I'm sure Beck deserves criticism. I don't know enough about the division of responsibilities to say for sure how much.

Why didn't OSU beat MSU in the B1G CCG two years ago with Herman calling plays? Why were the same mistakes made in that game as the one yesterday?

Like I said, tell me the division of responsibilities in game planning among the offensive coaches, including Tony Alford and Zach Smith. Urban Meyer is not a hands off coach when it comes to the offense. That's been true at BGSU, Utah, and Florida too. If the extent of your reasoning is that Herman left and Beck replaced him so he must solely be responsible for our offensive woes then you're just being intellectually lazy.

Sometimes the questions just aren't as hard to answer. It's not lazy it's just so damn obvious

One thing I thought of this morning that gave Sparty an advantage in that weather. They knew Cook wasn't playing and most of their week was focused on what we saw which was a gameplay designed for those weather conditions because of the strengths of the quarterbacks they played.

Like it was so damn obvious to 99.9% of Buckeye Nation that Fickell was to blame for the defensive woes in 2012 & 2013?

The question is: Does Urban think that Beck is doing what he's been asked to do? If Urban asked for one thing but got another then that would be cause to make a change. If he got what he asked for but the Bucks lost anyway, that's on Urban and Beck will stay. I think it's more likely that he will stay.

His position (QBs) regressed and as the primary playcaller the offense is -10.5 ppg scoring compared to last year. Can't imagine he is doing what he's been asked to do. Although of course there's no way to know that as a fan.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's all on Beck. Warriner needs to go back to being OL coach and being a supporting OC and Meyer needs to straighten things out as well. But Beck is the playcaller and the position coach for the most important position in this offense and he is not getting the job done.

Tebow touched the ball on every snap. Their respective frustrations were not even remotely the same.

It's even worse than I remembered it from last night. Can't believe there are people are upset with Elliott for speaking out when he should be applauded for his restraint. Two touches for a starting tailback in the final 42 minutes of the game is criminal. Mike Leach would have got his RB more touches. Let that sink in.

Sparty had already prepared to not throw the ball and it appeared the OSU staff wasn't ready for the weather to limit their passing. This turned it into a ground-game street fight on the LOS - and our guys got mauled. There didnt appear to be a set plan as to how to run the ball, nor a contingency other than QB run.

Give credit to Sparty for being way, way more prepared, motivated, and tough. They wanted it more - and that team almost always wins. Sparty had the eye of the tiger and OSU looked like a team content with what they had already accomplished. This loss showed us it was a myth that OSU had a switch to flip to take them from meh to magnificent.

I had almost forgotten what it felt like to lose. Didn't know how to act. Some of the players didn't either evidently. But it was going to happen sooner or later. This team has not had the edge it has needed to be the elite team its talent gives it the potential to be. If this loss puts a big chip on their shoulder some good will come out of it. There's no more winning streak to deal with and there is little chance they will be able to defend their title, so they are free to just play - or they can pout and be divided and selfish. We will get to know which way they chose to go Sat in Ann Arbor.
