Game Thread tOSU vs. Northern Illinois, Sat 9/19 @ 3:30pm ET, ABC/ESPN2

I'm just an old guy that's going to let a dead guy tell you about the offense.....

Come November, we'll be slipping right into the rocking chair!

Nah man the offense is officially in some deep dog [Mark May]. That's as bad as I've ever seen an offense look. I can't even remember Tressel's offense looking that bad for four straight quarters. I'm just wondering what the hell is going on right now. VaTech clearly has one of the better defenses in the country and yet the OSU offense made them look silly. Now they're struggling against Hawaii and Northern fucking Illinois.

We had several big plays against Va Tech, partly because their scheme takes alot of chances. We still haven't had many consistent drives.

Someone called me a Noob earlier - Part of the reason I don't post is these nabobs of negativity bringing me down MAN.
You clowns that can only look at the negative of a stupid game like this - Y'all are probably to young to remember the struggles of 2002.
As my Mom used to say - "If you don't have something nice to say don't say it"

All the more reason to post more often! Besides @BUCKYLE chooses more positivity (in the best ways) than anyone alive. You're not alone. And a 2004 join date is almost as non-noob as it gets around here, but he definitely meant it (in the process of a compliment) as a funny.

The play calling was disappointing. The execution was lacking. But most concerning, was the lack of awareness in regards to the time and situation. That is what worries me. The rest need work but it's doable. How an entire coaching staff wouldn't know how to run clock has me at a complete loss for words.

Let's take a step back from the collective ledge here. Clearly there are some issues to work on but struggling on offense is not unexpected when you lose your coordinator, have not settled the qb position the offensive line has not gelled yet. I trust the best coach in football at any level to get this stuff worked out. Last season was a great example of how much a team can improve over the course of a season.

OL playing like the 06 line in the NC game they were sick of Smith and I think they are tired of the Hollywood act of our playmakers

I agree. The slobs can't be happy with all the prima donna bullshit. Everyone lines up to suck Zeke's dick, but the slobs were the reason he ran for 696 yards the last three games last year. The outside blocking was stellar last year as well. These young guys aren't at that level.

A win is a win, but this was a bad win. So many things went wrong that I don't even know where to start. Thank goodness the defense balled out.
