tOSU vs Missouri, Goodyear Cotton Bowl, Friday Dec. 29, 8 ET on ESPN

OSU is 10-1-1 against Mizzou all time. The one loss happened in the Shoe in 1976, 22-21.

The week prior to that game the Bucks won in Crappy Valley while the Tigers got rolled at home by IIllinois. Go figure.

Mizzou went 6-5 that season while the Bucks went 9-2-1 after beating Colorado in the Orange Bowl, 27-10.

I was at that game in ‘76. Buckeyes were up 21-7, and fuck Pete Woods filling in for Steve Pisarkiewicz, tossing a questionable TD on 3rd down in the last 20 seconds, and then making it 22-21 with a 2-point conversion that was the second attempt after a hold on tOSU.

I walked out of the ‘Shoe stunned, after being about 20-0 in my previous games attended there.

Wow, it's actually on Youtube. No way was that a TD catch - foot was down but he dropped it. Video starts just before that play.

yeah, but but by the rules of the 1970s that's probably a touchdown. Look at the announcers. They both think clearly it's a TD.

Watch the Super Bowl highlights of Butch Johnson's "touchdown" for Dallas against Denver. He clearly drops it but I remember when I was a kid watching those highlights, I never thought it wasn't a TD. Now, it's - wait, that's a touchdown??

Yeah, I remember that Butch Johnson play - no way that's a TD today. But these announcers are also Mizzou homers, so there's that too.
