Game Thread tOSU vs. Maryland (Homecoming), Sat 10/10 @ 12p ET, BTN

I sat in C-deck yesterday. I got hear the Victory Bell ring and I got to sing Carmen Ohio at the end of the game with a smile on my face. I'm disappointed that in order to get to that point I had to put up with 3-1/2 hours of being among people who did more complaining than cheering.

Not gonna catch up on this thread or any of the others. I started enjoying this season more when I took a cue from Coach Meyer and stopped giving a fuck what any of you think.

It's not personal. Well, it is with some of you, LOL.

#BitchUp #ChoosePositivity

Although I obviously agree that the W-L record is the most important stat, I get frustrated with these types of posts.
1. I'll point out the glaring issue with this particular one... if you truly didn't give a fuck, then why are you reading and why bother responding? Doesn't take a cowboy to smell the bullshit on that comment.
2. Weaknesses in games that end up as wins DO end up biting teams. We've seen it in Buckeye teams. How many of you felt confident that we'd shut down Sammy Watkins after watching a hapless Michigan team hang 41 on this defense? Not me.
2. Part of the FUN of football season is the 6 days between games when crazy fans with nothing better to occupy their time (other than a boring dead-end job, three high-maintenance kids, and an over-the-hill wife with low energy issues) is to analyze and critique the play of their favorite football team. It's part of the JOB as a die-hard fan. Haven't you people read your job description???

i think UM just found FUN again, for himself and his players. he has high-caliber weapons, to this point it has been a choice between one or the other(s). from here on out they attack as a group...BM, JT, CJ...everybody will be leaning forward on the sidelines as either will be inserted without hesitation.

When do you want to peak Sept like Ga Tech USC or the last 6 games. I though tOSU would roll easily early but I remember new coaches , new players, injuries new and uncertain roles need time to grow and get comfortable..Hopefully we are on track ..Trust the plan even if the plan continues to evolve.

as it relates to "the plan" i think it is certainly possible going forward that we will run at times a no-huddle offense with CJ, JT and BM in the backfield. we will then think of the old days when teams would change a play at the LOS while still using the same QB...

I'd be happy if they figure out how to consistently run a dive up the middle effectively with one QB and one running back.

I don't want to go back to that tired azz boring Tressel ball. God no!
Aww, someone missing Dave.
The point is the team hasn't consistently shown solid execution on some very basic things thus far this season.

Bitching about how bad the offense is playing while pining for goofy formations for no reason shows a distinct lack of understanding of how football works.

Goofy shit won't work if the basic stuff isn't working first.

I know, I was just making a cheesy correlation to days gone by. Poor joke on my part.

I was just messing with you. I'd love to see them get Zeke into the second level more often.

Or maybe this is the same team that won the NC. Against Alabama they totally screwed up the first two red zone possessions. A fumble and a pic set up two 'bama scores. Punts were returned that shouldn't have been and punts were allowed to roll that shouldn't have. One buckeye punt traveled something like 20 yards and would have rolled back into the end zone if not stopped by a wide receiver. With a 14 point lead and less than 5 minutes to play, a corner bit and let the receiver get behind him for a score. After getting the ball on their own 45 they threw an ill advised pass (incomplete) which allowed 'bama to save a time out.

After spending a quarter and a half blowing Oregon out of the game the Bucks put the ball on the ground four times.

So maybe in our collective anxiety we should stop and remember that this team seems to enjoy playing under duress.

We should go all bear on defense. Only half way joking actually because if can't stop the interior run with what we have you keep committing people to the front until you can.

Hmmmm... thinking about TSUN, since they really only have Butt and that one receiver who can catch a ball, this isn't a terrible idea, right? Glue Apple to their receiver and put Hubbard on that TE all day and see what happens?

I'm sure you can tell I'm an X's and O's kinda guy... LOL.
