Generally speaking, I haven't been impressed by the quality of players in the portal. Lots of quantity, little quality.
Lots of 4 and 5 stars who couldn't get on the field. Lots of guys who chased NIL and continue to chase NIL.

Agreed. Spring will be the time to turn it up in the portal. Only 2 or 3 guys really worth pursuing right now.

Well, it has. Except for two games in late November. The biggest part of the program that confuses me is the inability to score in the red zone given the receivers, QBs, RBs we've had. That problem goes back to Urbs last few years including the stellar 2014-15 team.

I don’t think Howard coming in would cause Lincoln to bail. Brown for sure would be gone but Lincoln likely would stick around

Not to be over dramatic but this bowl game actually could potentially have a ripple effect on QB, Coaching, OSU future. Brown balls out no need to add anyone in the transfer portal. Ideal situation, add experienced transfer that does not impact depth chart if needed. Scenarios two Brown under performs in Bowl game. QB room looks like it did all year where consistency seems to be the issue. Howard doesn't move the needle for me. Maybe he is better than I'm giving him credit. Just seems at best he is a fall back option.

I tend not to mind the bringing in a backup QB and giving them a shot and bolstering depth but bring in a "big name" QB would likely destroy depth with the possibility of torching recruiting, plus who knows with the locker room..... and honestly.... who's a QB out there folks would want that would possibly leave and make us better?
