Wife and youngest son will be in literally the finest seats in the house tomorrow... few rows back of the Buckeye bench... and generally opposing team parents are in rows ahead of this.. daughter will be across the way.. I'll be over near Jax... and this is gonna be friggin AWESOME

Bummer my OSU grad couldn't come in for the game.. still coaching football.. but you can bet he'll get a healthy dose of great camera shots rubbing it in

so pumped.. been way too many years since I saw Bucks live

Wife just came home from work. She was looking at one of their message boards ("on the banks" or something similar). She says the Rutgers fans are like: "We almost sold out against Michigan State, there were only about 4000 empty seats... Probably be like up to 25% Ohio State fans there"

They have no idea.

Some pre-game news and notes:

1. Ezekiel Elliott has 988 yards rushing on the season. He needs just 12 yards to reach the 1,000-yard mark. Buckeye backs have broken the 1,000-yard barrier only 31 times in history, the first being Jim Otis in 1969.

2. Zeke also rushed for over 1,000 yards last season (1,878 yards). Only seven Buckeye backs have reached the 1,000-yard mark two or more times: Archie Griffin (1973, 1974, 1975); Tim Spencer (1981, 1982); Keith Byars (1983, 1984); Eddie George (1994, 1995); Antonio Pittman (2005, 2006); Chris "Beanie" Wells (2007, 2008); and Braxton Miller (2012, 2013).

3. Barring a catastrophe, 2015 will be the fourth year in a row that a Buckeye back has broken the 1,000-yard mark:

2012: Braxton Miller (1,271)
2013: Braxton Miller (1,068); Carlos Hyde (1,521)
2014: Ezekiel Elliott (1,878)
2015: Ezekiel Elliott (????)

The Buckeye record for most consecutive seasons with at least one 1,000+ yard rusher is five: (1973-1977) and (1980-1984).

4. Zeke is averaging 141.1 yards rushing per game in 2015, which would be the 5th-best per game average for a single season at Ohio State. Eddie George leads the way with a mark of 148.2 yards per game in his Heisman season of 1995. Assuming a 14-game season this year, Zeke needs to average 155.3 yards per game to match Eddie's record. If Zeke did so, he would have 2,075 yards rushing on the season, a new Buckeye single-season record (Eddie had 1,927 yards in 13 games in 1995).

5. Elliott has 3,128 rushing yards for his Buckeye career, which puts him in 8th place at Ohio State. He needs 71 yards to surpass Carlos Hyde for 7th place; 73 yards to surpass Keith Byars for 6th place; 118 yards to surpass Braxton Miller for 5th place (assuming that Brax gains no yards this week); and 255 yards to surpass Chris "Beanie" Wells for 4th place.

8.
Joey Bosa has 42.5 career TFL's, good for 10th best at Ohio State. Bosa needs 0.5 TFLs to tie John Simon and Jerome Foster (43.0 TFLs) for 8th place; 1.0 TFLs to tie Matt Wilhelm (43.5 TFLs) for 7th place; and 2.0 TFLs to tie Ryan Shazier (44.5 TFLs) for 6th place; and 3.0 TFLs to tie Will Smith (45.5 TFLs) for 5th place.

9. Joey Bosa has 23.5 career sacks, good for 4th place at Ohio State. Bosa needs 1.5 sacks to tie Matt Finkes (25.0 sacks) for 3rd place; and 4.0 sacks to tie Jason Simmons (27.5 sacks) for 2nd place. Mike Vrabel holds the Ohio State record with 36.0 career sacks.

10. Ohio State enters the game with the nation's 29th ranked total offense (455.6 ypg) and 18th ranked total defense (302.3 ypg), which means that the Buckeyes outgain their opponents by 153.3 yards per game.

11. Rutgers enters the game with the nation's 33rd ranked total offense (448.8 ypg) but the 104th ranked total defense (447.3 ypg), which means that the Scarlet Knights outgain their opponents by only 1.5 yards per game.

12. Ohio State enters the game with the nation's 23rd ranked scoring offense (37.0 ppg) and 13th ranked scoring defense (16.3 ppg), which means that the Buckeyes outscore their opponents by almost 21 points per game.

13. Rutgers enters the game with the nation's 41st ranked scoring offense (34.3 ppg) and the 85th ranked scoring defense (29.2 ppg), which means that the Scarlet Knights outscore their opponents by about 5 points per game.

14. The Scarlet Knights' numbers are skewed by their opening day blowout victory over FCS Norfolk, 63-13. In that game, Rutgers amassed 539 yards of total offense and surrendered just 196 yards. Against FBS opponents, Rutgers is averaging 28.6 points per game (would be 71st in FBS) while giving up 32.4 points per game (would be 103rd in FBS); and averaging 430.8 yards per game (would be 46th in FBS) while giving up 497.6 yards per game (would be 117th in FBS).

Rutgers's overall offensive and defensive production should normalize (i.e., become much worse) after consecutive games against Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
