Lol.... Hayes Fawcett doing Hayes Fawcett stuffIt’s a tweet on X….
If you're asking if there's a difference maker that's uncommitted or still on the OSU big board, then I'd have to agree with @RB07OSU in Tranard Roberts. I like Kingston Allen, but he seems a little more stiff and is a 1 cut and go type of player with not much wiggle to his game. He is able to outrun defenders when he hits the hole or the perimeter. Kind of reminiscent to Brandon Saine, a ton of speed but not the best vision. Where Roberts reminds me more of Treyveon Henderson. He has the shifty as well as the speed, and can turn on the burners at any moment.@pnuts34 is there a difference maker out there still or fo you see that RB coming from the portal?
This seems to be the issue the last couple seasons is having that explosive back.
Fully agree on RB being devalued, but that's also because most of the teams in the nation have transfer RBs as starters, Its a plug and play position. As much as Zeke was needed to win the '14 title, Judkins was as important to the '24 title. I think dynamic RBs can be found in the 2nd tier of HS recruiting as well as in the Portal. I've been on record for being against paying insane amounts for RBs, because that would then take away NIL from OL, WRs, DL, etc. That's fine if Tenn thinks they "won" by getting DGG, but at what cost?Curious to hear @pnuts34 thoughts but I'm going to take a slightly different position than many and say that the RB position has been undervalued in recent years. Not just at the college level, but at the professional level too.
I get the observations that there are injuries so you need quantity, and that the talent disparity at RB is perhaps not as high as other positions where the talent is more scarce or where you need more numbers (OL/DL namely). However, a dynamic RB makes a world of difference to me. I'm not sure we win a title without Zeke, but also look what happened when Donbins got injured and we had leaned on him so much all year before that. And recently our RBs are in the above average stratosphere, with Bo being a little above that at times. I agree not having a playmaker at RB has been a bit of a hindrance to the offense.
All that said, look out for Elijah Newman-Hall when he gets here, that kid is for real and will play from Day 1 imo. A big time RB in the portal would definitely be helpful, as would Bey coming along at the RB position. As to the topic matter of this thread for the 2027 class, I would qualify Tranard Roberts as an elite RB if we were to land him, that kid is for real.
That’s a fair question brother. And I think what may mitigate some of those HS losses are if he can land someone good in the Portal. But lets be honest, losing these 3, on top of DGG and even Spell is a BAD look.@pnuts34 thoughts on if/when OSU misses on all 3 2027 RBs currently offered
Tranard Roberts - UNC
Jordan Hall - Penn St
Kingston Allen - Wisky
When do questions about Locklyn start??

I can see Ryan consulting with former OsU coaches and coaches that he’s worked with or for prior. But I’m sure all the opinions are taken, but Day realizes that none of these coaches deal with the same situation he has with NIL, the Portal, etc. And the fact that Day was brought in to modernize Urbans offense also factors in to how much Day takes away from Urban as well. And the same goes for if he consults with TresselMaybe a useless question, but wonder how much info Urban actually gets from Ryan regarding tOSU plans. On one hand, can see Ryan asking for the benefit of Urban's wealth of knowledge, but also knowing that Urban now makes his living going on TV/media and spouting off things to make him seem all-knowing, to build a following. Also believe that tOSU program has morphed away from the road UFM had them on, so am unclear what relevance there might be. Will leave it with a 'this is what I would do if I was still tOSU's coach' type of thing from UFM, still trying to be relevant as a coach. Could also imagine that Ryan still calls on Chip as a confidant/sounding board. Anyway, Go Bucks!
Days gone by…..maybe having these guys come in and talk to the team ahead of Michigan, but other than that….I can see Ryan consulting with former OsU coaches and coaches that he’s worked with or for prior.
