2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

These ones that end up as big NIL battles is where losing Hartline probably hits the hardest, a great coach sometimes can win out over the heavy bag swings. Hopefully we bring in a replacement who brings excitement.

Our fans are ridiculous. This dude rattled off teams that got a good return after a championship run, yet aren't nearly as well rounded as OSU using the strategy that OSU is using.

JHC!!

Brain dead low level thinkers.

Any organization built upon one person is doomed to failure. tOSU football team is made up of individuals, some who are great, others that merely carry the water. Recollect at one company, one could not be promoted without having trained one's replacement. That's why there are assistant position coaches. Seems that is Ohio State's proclivity, to promote from within (which makes them a great organization to belong to), and might happen now. Or bring in a young superstar in the making, or someone at the top of their game right now. In any event, this should give us an indication of how long Ryan Day continues to lead the team, going for the easy hire, or the more difficult one. Regardless, the juggernaut that is Ohio State will go rolling along. The coaching staff is composed of some really great teachers, as well as great coaches. So, let's tap the brakes a tad, and enjoy the trip that we're about to embark on. First up, Indiana.....

Idk if honestly the recruiting rankings are all that important anymore. I mean they are, but the focus should be on filling roster holes and creating solid depth. With the Portal, many HS misses can be covered up. Would missing on say Guilford and CHjr hurt next year if OSU is able to land say Cam Coleman and/or Nick Marsh. Rosters can essentially only be thought out 1 year at a time with the Portal, so assuming that budding true frosh will stay at the same school is wishful thinking. A lot goes into keeping rosters in tact. OSU missed on Legend Bey, but would anyone care in a year if they land a comparable talent who's going into his 3rd year?

Yeah, the best method for dealing with twitter is think most of the people on there are trolls or parody accounts. Most are looking for argumentative engagement

Agreed. Blue chip ratio is definitely important. OSU I am sure meets that mark.

With KDW out, they should throw a bag at Henry, hope he comes to love the culture, and not really worry about Guilford.

Yeah it's weird. Absolutely think OSU is playing it correctly but I also don't blame recruits taking the biggest bag imaginable given everything else. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.

It's also interesting because none of these NIL schools have done much of anything. I guess Oregon is up there but OSU stuffed them in a locker last year and I'm not sure another 5-star WR will help lol. They've had no shortage of those recently.
