From what I've heard the USC money is now over 2mill.
That's absurd and obviously Ohio State isn't going to match it. No one in the recruiting industry can really figure out where USC is getting this money or how they're planning to live up to their promises.
Ohio State is operating under the pretense they have 14ish million dollars for its football roster based on the House Settlement and the 18 million number is the same for everyone. Between Elbert Hill (at least 1 mill), Wafle (2 mill), Pepe (2 mill) and Mark Bowman (9+ mill) what the Trojans are doing just makes zero sense. They have 30 commitments and four other defensive ends already committed. Either they're going to be starting 22 freshman in 2026 or they're going to forcing a lot of kids out. Desperation is a stinky cologne and Lincoln Riley is clearly very, very desperate.
I know that there were rumors that Penn State and UCLA were the schools that recently were linked to private equity firms and I wonder if USC has found some money that way that's going into the collectives. Collectives are supposed to be dead but USC seems to be funneling money through one of those and setting up a "go ahead and try to stop us" battle with the courts after July 1.

The gray area, is that the money being offered needs to be paid before they're actually students at the college, so USC still has until January for the early enrollees to raise the money for their NIL. Now it's a HECKUVA gamble, because if USC has another 8 win season, how many of these kids stay regardless of the bagIt's the smart play.
Someone was going to do it.
Hold on, this song has a little introduction to itThe first part pertains to Luke Wafle, and the rest refers to the current state of NIL:
