2020 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

LSU has to hold onto that class. They have a very tough schedule. The strength of Jarrett's committment has to be in question. NCAA snooping around and if Coach O doesn't produce this year the seat will get hot or he will be replaced. We had 2 of the top 3 WR's at the Opening finals. Scott will get his 5th star.

IMO our coaches hold 1-2 scholarships for elite guys they can flip. Our passing game looks good and Jarrett might be an option down the road.
ASSUMING we get Mookie... which one of the 4 WRs are you giving up to get Jarrett? cause I dont see how we take 5

Why give up any? We have 4 SR's in Mack,Saunders,Hill, and Victor. We only took 2 WR's last year. Babb will be a Medical Scholarship. Blue Smith transfered out. If Gardiner doesn't get PT he will likely transfer in the Spring. Harris could transfer or go pro after this season if he does well.

IMO going into next years Fall Camp you will have Williams,Wilson, Olave, and possibly Harris as the only returning WR's...that's pretty darn thin WR room even with 4 freshmen. We are a WR/pass first offense. You don't turn talent like Jarrett away. With 5 freshmen that's 9 WR's on scholarship when we want anywhere from 12-13.

Plus Cooper is the only true slot. That's why the recruitment of Martinez is interesting. Hill grads so is Hartline taking Martinez and Cooper as slots? I think that's why they are not taking Makari Paige yet because they need to figure out what to do with Martinez. There will be plenty of PT at slot next year.

You're forgetting about Jaelin Gill at WR.

Why give up any?
1. Steve Wiltfong (and others) have on numerous occasions commented on the culture that Ohio State is building. Kids who troll entire fan bases on Twitter probably do not fit into that culture.

2. Jaylan Knighton would fill the Curtis Samuel role, and would essentially be a 5th receiver to go along with Fleming, Scott, Cooper, and Smith-Njigba.

3. Ohio State already has one WR committed for 2021 (Jayden Ballard, #20 WR); definitely leads for Marvin Harrison Jr (#7 WR) and Lorenzo Styles Jr (#8 WR); is in good shape with Emeka Egbuka (#1 ATH) and Gavin Blackwell (#16 WR) and Latrell Neville (#23 WR); and is in the mix for Beaux Collins (#5 WR) and Dekel Crowdus (#45 WR). Other names will undoubtedly arise over the next 12 months (Liam Clifford from St. X, for example). No need to stockpile receivers in 2020 when the 2021 class seems to be equally loaded with top prospects who are very interested in Ohio State.

This! I LOVE Jarrett's talent. But no thanks! The WR's Ohio State currently has committed all seem like they will be great teammates. I'll leave it at that.

Add 80 pounds on these kids and if they retain their speed we will turn them into rush DEs.
