tOSU Recruiting Discussion

2/1 Update:

No chance:
Carlos Becker - FSU lock
Keyshon Camp
Karamo Dioubate - No contact on our end
Mecole Hardman - UGA lock

Trending Down:
Jamar King - All signs pointing to Bama... if they have room
K'von Wallace - If we get Fuller, he most likely is not a take

Trending Up:
Jordan Fuller - Lorenz just balled him to OSU, he stands with Wade and so do I
Malik Harrison - He will be a Buckeye
Malcolm Pridgeon - Baylor/OSU fight. Sounds like we made it really close and that we have a legit chance to land him.

I take it you're filing Damar Hamlin under "no chance"?

Ahh how did I let that one slip? Yeah I would have him both in the "no chance" while also trending up at the same time, if that's possible lol

I think OSU has made a solid push for him and might even finish as the runner-up, but his OV to Pitt last weekend and announcement on local TV make me think he stays home. But based on Haskins' tweet... something could be brewing.

Thrilled that we got Fuller! The kid can do anything and do it well. He's the kind of talent we use to get only one of on this team.
Now, we get several of these guys every year! That gives the coaches options when guys go down or leave. Need says he probably stays at DB.
And some were saying Harbaugh had Jersey "locked down"!
This proves he doesn't and we'll still get quality kids from there.

Even with Partridge on staff it's going to become much harder for him to recruit NJ now that Ash is there. And we all know the Meyer coaching tree pupils recruit very hard

2/2 Update - I'll make it short and sweet:

In:
Malik Harrison
Malcolm Pridgeon

Out:
K'Von Wallace (in light of Burns sticking)
Jamar King

This gives us 289.17 points on the 247 composite, which would put us between 3rd and 4th historically going back to 2012.
Sounds good to me and fills a bunch of holes from early departures with uber talented kids.

Thoughts on Burns vs Wallace?

I thought Burns might be encouraged to take a second look at Louisville in favor of Wallace but I base this on nothing and have no preference myself.
Haven't seen game film on either, just highlights. I REALLY liked Wallace but again was basing that off of highlights. OSU made Burns a priority down the stretch and I think Coombs and Schiano really wanted to keep him in the class. I like what I see out of Burns but either one would have been a project. Burns gets high marks for his speed and length...but with most of his defensive highlights being at safety I can't get a feel for his hips because there are only a few plays where he is asked to open up and run. It sounds like the staff sees Davis, Felder and Fuller as corners and Wint and Burns as safeties although I think Fuller looks like more of a future safety. Burns definitely shows an ability to play in the box and be physical...and we know the same can be said about Wint.
