Gonna have to expect the Iowa/Rutgers defense of 'sit back and hold on for dear life' every game now. It's the only way teams can slow OSU down. No everyone can pull it off, but I don't expect officials on the road at PSU to give a shit about holding.

Read that part of the issue in the first half was that OSU didn't expect Iowa to play mostly man. In the 2nd half, they switched it up and used more man-beater combinations. I doubt that PSU will be able to switch up what they do as much since they didn't have a bye week, but it'll still be difficult. Hopefully Day and co. will have a few more wrinkles that make it harder to just stack the box and see what they can get away with.

Yes - I expect a lot of what Iowa did going forward - run stuffing blitzes + holding WRs.
It'll be up to the WRs to beat the holds. Will also be important that Stroud and the WR are on the same page.
I have confidence the coaches will have the proper strategy.

And for the love of God if someone 0 run blitzes like Iowa was doing all day run some play action and burn them and make them hesitant to call it again

1. So BPers, make sure your yearly charitable donations include a generous check to the Fox TV Scheduler's office along with your usual pat on the ass to the Big Ten Refs Retirement Fund.

2. Personally, I don't get it. Why wouldn't you put the conference's biggest game for this week on prime time? I just don't see it as anything but an attempt to find a time slot without competition from the SEC and ND/NBC.

3. And finally, PSU, why don't you take your whiney-ass program and fan base off to the ACC? You only have to beat one program to be the chump there. We'll keep Maryland who's more than grateful.

1. We aren't going to get the Houston market, world series, or no world series. Philly market and PSU? Probably is an issue there.
2. Yeah, I was glad when PSU joined the B1G because I knew their days of getting ranked for doing little more than beating Pitt and Syracuse would be over. Their entitled whiney-ass attitude has left me less joyful.
3. Having not watched more than a few minutes of the WS since the Indians - Braves series, I forget that there are still baseball fans out there. I did cheer when I got the news that the Dodgers and the Yankees choked in October.

Fox has both our game and the World Series. They're choosing the World Series as the primetime game. It has nothing to do with Houston markets.....this was decided before the playoffs even started.

I really like their analysis but the things they don’t talk about surprises me sometimes. They talk about how Penn State’s defense was on the field a crazy number of plays and wore down throughout the game against Michigan, which made the Michigan score more lopsided than it actually was.

But they fail to bring up the reason the defense was on the field so much was Penn State’s offense sucking, and very specifically Clifford being awful, which, last time I checked, will also be a factor in this game.

Definitely don't agree with their logic.

Sure, Penn State's D was on the field for a lot of plays, but that didn't make the game seem more lopsided than it was. The game was just that, lopsided.

If anything, their D made the game less lopsided with the pick 6 before half. Take that away & it's even uglier.

Not to mention, after Penn State was leading at the half, TTUN's three TD drives in the second half were for a total of 11 plays (4, 1, & 6).
