Game Thread tOSU @ Penn State, Oct 25th @ 8pm ET, ESPN

Penn state has the #1 rush defense currently, but a middle of the road passing defense (I think somewhere in the 40s or 50s). I think we put up something somewhere in the 30's. We probably won't be able to run all over them until later in the game, so if JT is hot then it could get ugly. But I'll guess something like 34-13.

They haven't played a team that can run like Ohio State can (or pass for that matter)

52-7

They've also played #121, #106, #76, #103, #102, and #68 rushing offenses in the country. Ohio State is #26.

OSU averages 259.8 yards per game. PSU holds 60.8 yards per game. Even cutting OSU's rushing attack in half still yields a decent return on rushing especially with OSU's passing attack on top of it.

The problem is going to be Penn St's offense. They are not going to be able to run or keep Hackenberg clean. I don't think PSU's offense has enough talent to hold the ball for 12 play, 8 minute long drives and give their defense rest. Their weakness is quality depth, and that will be exploited by OSU's depth, rotation, and tempo.

Even if PSU comes out playing great defense, I don't think it can hold up over 60 minutes. If their offense has a lot of three-and-outs? It will get real ugly.

Exactly. The time of possession should be slanted in tOSU's favor by a WIDE margin. Their D is decent, but not deep enough to be on the field for 40+ minutes. I'm fully prepared to listen to another year of the pedsters whining about Urban running the score up....

I think if they stay within 30 points they should all be invited to the Oprah show and get an award of some kind.

I am so looking forward to this. Urban will not take his foot off their neck in the fourth quarter. I am really, really hoping that he intends to send Franklin and all the recruiting prospects a real message and just continue to kick the pedsters when they are down.
