Game Thread tOSU @ Minnesota, Nov 15th @ 12p ET, ABC/WatchESPN

Everyone is predicting a run-heavy gameplan; which it will likely lean towards because of Urban Meyer's general philosophy. I wouldn't be surprised a bit to see us air it out quite a bit, as well. I'm not sure if people are forgetting that we still have a RS Frosh at QB and perhaps a serious shot at the playoffs. JT has been impressive but tOSU still could use a lot more reps in the passing game. Our running game will (should) always be there. Now and next week are the only chances to iron out the kinks before TTUN, B1G CCG, and bowl game(s). I don't think the coaches are going to pound it out for an easy victory. These are some very valuable real game reps before it's time to "just win, baby".

Having said that... JUST WIN, BABY!

The weather might be a factor if we were playing against a southern team not used to the cold. Once the game starts the cold will not matter to the players - unless there is precipitation or wind.
I was in sparty stadium/tailgating Saturday, the intermittent rain didn't stop until after 5:30, the field was damp, its was chilly but the Bucks still scored 49!!!
Game over by the start of the 4th Quarter!!

Minny curb stomping Iowa was excellent timing. Should get our guys attention and lead to a good week of practice.

It will also help the Buckeyes resume even more if they crush a very dangerous 7-2 Minnesota team (that should be ranked!).

Minnesota is ranked #21 in Total D, #37 Rush D, #26 Pass D, #23 in Scoring D, and #17 in Interceptions.

With the respects now given, I will say that I fully expect this one to be over in the 3rd quarter. I fully expect to see JT in one of those big puffy warming jackets on the sidelines by the 10 minute mark in the 3rd quarter. Same with EzE. This game will be a showcase for the younger guys to get some snaps.

The biggest question mark going into this game is who will be returning punts? Neither Wilson (who is now out) or Marshall have been reliable and/or dominant in hte return game.

I've been calling for Samuel to be returning kicks for a while. The only reason you might shy away from that with the young guy is worry of drops/poor decisions... but we've been getting that from the #1 and #2 guys on the depth chart, so it can't really get too much worse.

I think the Iowa game was impressive for the Gophers in terms of their teams lack of big wins in the last decade. Its a team that is dangerous when facing off against equally talented teams. This isn't the case for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is too fast, too strong, and too confident.

I think you added a "too" for the sake of parallelism , but I really hope that this team doesn't come into MN with too much confidence.

I did, but I don't mind the Buckeyes, or any team for that matter, playing with high confidence. Confidence is a good thing; it breeds leadership. There is a strong though difference between confidence and cocky. Knowing your skill set and how high of a level you can play at with said skills allows a player (or person for that matter) to continue to excel against competition and resistance. Cocky is what the Buckeyes were toward the end of 2006; confidence is what the Buckeyes are now after growing together.
