Game Thread tOSU @ Indiana, Sat 10/3 @ 3:30p ET, ABC/ESPN2

I really don't know how Beck can escape criticism at this point. JT was great last year, but if he isn't showing enough to beat Cardale...that's a gigantic regression, and the only place you can put that is on the QB coach. Combine it with what we saw at Nebraska...I'd say it looks a little damning, to say the least.
I've been beating the Beck drum for a few weeks now. All the corn fans i work with were almost apologetic when we hired Beck. I was worried, but thought he couldn't fuck them up too bad. I was wrong.

From this point on, I think Warinner needs to focus on the OL. Meyer needs to focus on the QBs. Beck needs to focus on the rest of the offense.

Set up the running game with the mid to short-level passing game. Stop trying to be cute. Cut the freaking turnovers (how many since the Sugar Bowl? I've genuinely lost track).

Finally, let the D do its thing.

Jones has 200 passing yards in the first half. He's not playing poorly. Nobody on our team is a threat to run the ball right now.

He's not playing well either. His completions have been to wide open receivers. When they're not 5 yards in the clear he either holds it too long and gets sacked or he fires it over their head.

I didn't say that he was playing poorly. I said that he forces Ohio State out of its base offense, out of its comfort zone. The coaching staff needs to adjust and figure out ways to use Jones effectively - some sort of pro-style offense.

Some folks here like to laugh at complaints, waiting for the inevitable blow out to happen. Maybe that'll happen the rest of the way but I'm not nearly as confident as some seem to be that it's just going to magically occur because of talent. Talent alone is rarely enough, especially as the competition gets tougher. This team's offense is hit or miss and hasn't shown signs of improvement now 5 games into the season.

I hear you on this. If the problem was the defense (as in the past), I would say we are in trouble. I have some faith in Urban's ability to right the ship on offense.

I figured maybe Cardale was still not feeling secure with his starting spot through to last weeks game, so was willing to give Beck a pass up until now considering he was hired by Urban (plus JT not getting as many reps). The performance today, however, has me firmly in the "Beck is an issue" camp with how the QBs have performed.
