To my untrained eye, McMillan has had a great game today.

They threw up his numbers quickly. Something like 11 tackles, 1.5 TFL, .5 sack.

They are playing a hell of a game.

Agreed they are playing well. They are beating our front, which is a little disturbing, but still, credit to them. I would like to see a better passing game plan when we are facing an aggressive pass rush, though.

of course their performance matches their talent, they are undefeated and about win another game. the only expectations they are not living up to are yours, which are unrealistic. if you recognize they won't perform up to video game standards every week then why is everyone so salty all the time?

Because we all just watched Alabama demolish an LSU team with talent that is far far superior to anyone on Illinois. That is who we will quite possibly be facing if we make it into the playoffs, and like it or not, that is to whom our comparisons will be made.

If we are struggling like this against Illinois' front seven, how do you think a game against Alabama or Clemson will go?

There is nothing wrong with calling out mediocrity and areas for improvement - it's how you get better. Alabama did that after their tight games against Ole Miss and Tennessee, and they're much better for it.

Except Rutgers is garbage and worse than Illinois. I'm saying what evidence do you have we will play good against a good team?

You do realize that Illinois is #32 nationally in total defense. We also handled the #16 (PSU), #26 (Va tech), and #22 (minnesota) defenses with a back up qb.

Also, this team is 3-0 vs Top 35 offenses.

Stop equating Win-Loss records with talent.

I'm not concerned on the defense side of things. If you're gonna make a list, why not list how PSU was able to score 5000 points on them?
