tOSU: Best Trio of Coaches in NCAA?

Not always true! ND consistantly has a top 25 baseball team.

Yeah, but it doesn't count if Saint Charlie rolls the field flat with his ego and then allows those little beams of light to radiate from his fingertips and warms the diamond for the team.

Even if he isn't the baseball coach, technically it's still some sort of NCAA violation. :pimp:

Nobody here gives a rat's ass about Notre Shame Chief. Except for you and that doesn't count.
:shake:

I think this post is out of line. This thread is about any college that has top coaches in all of the major sports, and someone made a statement about warm-weather versus northern baseball teams. ND Chief was just responding to that statement.

You're entitled to your opinion as I am mine.

I've deleted the "offending" post even though I've seen posts that were much worse than that one in the years I've been a member here and nothing was said about them.

You're right. I was expressing my opinion about your post. I didn't ask you to delete it.

You're also correct about there being 'much worse' posted previously. I've personally posted a lot of smack about Notre Dame. And there have been times in the past when NDChief has posted some stuff that deserved a strong reaction, and he has received it. But, in my opinion, when a poster that supports another team makes a reasonable comment in response to the topics in a thread, he shouldn't be hit with "nobody here gives a rat's ass".

BP wants to encourage reasonable discussion with posters that support other teams. When they post unreasonably, they should expect to get treated more harshly than Buckeye fans would be, since this is a tOSU fan site. But when they are reasonable, they should be able to expect the same in return.

Again, you are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else.

We both agree that there have been far worse posts made in and on a variety of subjects but I don't recall any particular one being pointed out as out of line. Where do you draw the line? If you feel the need to call me to task because you happen to disagree with something I said then you need to apply that same principle to all past and future out of line posts.

I won't go as far as to say that Tressel is the best coach in the country, but I wouldn't take anybody ahead of him to run THIS program. He is the perfect fit.

I will go as far as to say that Matta is probably the most exciting and most desirable coach in the NCAA right now. He's one of those Midas touch kind of guys. You can bet your ass that if Williams or "K" died tomorrow, Matta would be the first guy NC and Duke would pursue.

Foster has done a great job here, but he coaches girls basketball and I don't watch girls basketball, so no real opinion here.

And, like Thump ponted out, when you add in Todd to what finalizes the "Big Three sports, I'll take our bunch over anybody.

Just hope that nobody brings Wrestling into the mix.

I don't feel that I "called you to task". I didn't issue a warning or edit your post - I simply expressed my opinion about the way I feel we should treat posters that support other teams.

It seems that you strongly object to my use of the term 'out of line'. I'm willing to revise it to term it an 'unjustified negative statement directed at a poster that supports another team'. I'm saying 'unjustified' based solely on the contents of this thread. Is that wording of my own opinion acceptable to you?

If you wish to continue debating this, please respond via a PM.

I have no desire to debate this with you any further. I just hope that when a post much worse comes along you feel the need to voice your displeasure with the composer there as well.

Hey, listen High Lonesome, nobody around here, uh, wait, we'll hold that for now :paranoid: :slappy:

GD01 was right about the 7 national championships in 11 years and I think we have a lady who makes just about any coach you can think of pale in comparison.

Buckeye head coach Linda Lichter-Witter collected her 400th win at the OSU College Association Meet Feb. 4.
After guiding OSU to a first-place finish out of five teams, Witter improved her Ohio State and career record to 402-7. Witter entered her 11th season as the OSU coach with a 393-7 record.

Her record is now 424-7  and her team appears to be on the way to another national championship, although Stanford will be tough and have home pool advantage. Note that they took first and second place in the regional championship!
