This might be an unexpected dogfight....hoping I'm wrong

It won't be unexpected. This is the annual post PSU letdown spot and a traditionally tough spot to play. Especially at night.

That said, Purdue is also a traditional nightmare place to play for us so there are limits to how awful the team can be in these kind of spots.

My fear is the same as it was all summer, a young QB who isn't ready to be elite yet behind a sketchy OL turning the ball over. I don't care how bad the opponent is, you turn it over 3 times and you'll be lucky to win.

Don't help them with turnovers and Wisky should have no chance, let down or no.

I think we should stop calling this OL sketchy.

They aren’t elite but they’re certainly doing a good job with pass pro. All of Coach Days offenses have struggled to run the ball consistently other than 2019.

The OL I think deserves more credit.

Use whatever word makes you comfortable. They are 81st in the country in yards per rush attempt.

I'm going with sketchy

At the time I posted that, Wisky was losing and Ohio State just won

Every game is a potential let down at this point. They are going to be #3 or #2 in the country.

Wisconsin, who comes into this game at 5-2 on the year, managed to bounce back from a 15-6 loss to Iowa with a 25-21 win over Illinois last time out. With starting QB Tanner Mordecai sidelined indefinitely with a hand injury, Mississippi State transfer Braedyn Locke helped lead the Badgers to a fourth quarter comeback. Trailing 21-7 entering the final frame, Wisconsin rattled off 18 unanswered points to steal the game. Locke finished 21-of-41 with 240 yards and two TDs, while star running back Braelon Allen totaled 145 yards rushing and a TD. The Badgers’ offense has struggled at times under OC Phil Longo, but they are at their best when they give Allen the football.

With Jim Leonard no longer at the helm of the defense, the Badgers have taken a bit of a step back this season on that side of the ball. It's still not a bad unit by any means, but Wisconsin currently ranks middle of the pack in the Big Ten in scoring defense, sitting 10th at stopping the run and eighth in stopping the pass. The team’s biggest star defensively has been safety Hunter Wohler, who leads the Badgers with 70 total tackles — 26 more than the next-highest player — with three tackles for loss, two interceptions and four pass breakups. Linebacker Darryl Peterson leads the way in the front seven, tallying six TFLs and 3.5 sacks, both team-highs.

A big question mark going into this game is just how healthy is Ohio State? The Buckeyes have managed to get by with all their injuries, but it would be nice to have guys like TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka and Denzel Burke back for what could be a tough road game. OSU has done a great job against the run this season, but Allen is far and away the best back they’ve faced thus far. The linebackers were up to the task against Penn State’s RB duo, and they will need to match that performance this week. Elsewhere, Ohio State has to get something going on the ground to help McCord keep the offense moving. A healthy Henderson would go a long way there, but it remains to be seen when he will take the field again.

The good guys will have the center stage again, with this night game, on the road, in a hostile environment. The game against ND was a similar situation and so the team has already been battle tested against a better opponent. ND's RB #7 is a similar big back to Braylon. We usually do pretty good against the big boy RB's, with few exceptions. Wisky really has no one to match up against the Marvelous one. But then again, who does? We should see another stellar performance from #18 and Kyle will get his normal 250-300 yards passing. Especially if EE is able to play.
The way our D is playing we should limit their Offensive output. They only put up 6 on Iowa and Iowa scored 15 on them. They struggle with Illinois. This probably won't be a blow out but we should see a solid victory for the S&G.

I'm watching the replay of their game against Illinois. This is a no shit Sherlock comment, but if Wisconsin doesn't utilize the "shorten the game" strategy, they're idiots. Number one.....it's Wisconsin. That's what they do. Number two....that QB is NOT good. If Illinois had DBs that actually wanted to catch the ball, I saw about 4 interceptions left on the field in the last 8 minutes of the game.
