Game Thread tOSU at Wisconsin, Sat, Oct 16, 7:00 ET; ESPN

you guys have been dominant for so long, do you even get nervous on game days anymore? When was the last time you went into a game 1, being an underdog, 2, being favored but thinking you could lose?

it's a good time to be a buckeye fan, that's for sure. Just wondering if you guys get nervous anymore.

I get nervous anytime we play a ranked team. These kids are only 18-20 something, you never know what you're gonna get. Can't expect them to play an "A" game every week. The best team doesn't always win

Yep. Still get nervous.

The level of confidence has certainly increased, but there's still nervousness.

I was nervous about Marshall because it was the first game and I didn't know if our offense was going to be firing or not this season.

I was nervous about the Miami game because it was Miami and there was a lot riding on that game.

I was nervous about Ohio because of the possible let down after the Miami game.

I wasn't nervous about Eastern Michigan.

I was nervous about Illinois because they always play us close.

I wasn't nervous about Indiana.

I was nervous about Wisconsin because they play us close, and it's at Camp Randall Stadium at night.

I am always nervous on game day the rest of the time I'm confident..its easy to remember the losses that shouldn't have happened. A Rose Bowl where Neal Colzie got a stupid penalty after an interception, a punt hitting off a blocker against MSU in 97, Purdue last year..

It is a great time to be a Buckeye fan, always has been, always will!
And yes I get nervous before each game, but I do so because when I don't the team performance level drops.
When I get concerned, they play at their peek levels.
I don't want to be the weak link, let the team down, cause underperformance issues, so I make my contributions the best that I can.
The other thing that I notice, when I am concerned about one area of the team, for example pass defense against Indiana, they have a tendency to increase productivity.
Today I am concerned about rush defense against Bucky. Take that as a good sign!
One final observation that some of us long time fans and insiders realize--When Tressel came in '01 the Ohio State University med center coronary care unit had increases in census level during Saturday afternoon's games and into the evenings, This not so shocking revelation, combined with OSU med centers sagging revenues have launched top secret negotiations which led to a sizable contract between JT and the CCU at the med center.
Not sure what the details and expectations were in that super secret contract, but was informed recently that Smith found out and insisted on a sizable cut in his AD package.
It is maddening for sure, but old time Buckeye fans are starting to realize and adapt to and prepare for the anticipated anxiety spike.
Thanks for asking, :osu:

Wisconsin still gives plenty of reason to be nervous, especially in Camp Randall. Bielema helps calm our nerves slightly, but they always play OSU tough and that is a fierce environment.

Penn State and Wisconsin play out like 3rd tier rivalry games for OSU (like Sparty used to for UM).

Tressel is always talking about how each game is going to be a battle, and who isn't nervous before a battle?

If you're not nervous, than you might be complacent, and that is sure to cause PTSD after a loss...

Thanks, Fox

I was nervous until this morning I see Fox Sports "Fearless Predictions" has Wiscy 23, OSU 20.

Actually, I'm still nervous, but I always get nervous.

I'm hoping the Fox prediction is pasted in the locker room today.

Silence the Doubters, indeed!

:oh:

I get excited. In all honesty, we have a great team and it's going to take a lot to beat us. When it comes down to it, I just love college football and the Buckeyes. Not very many things in life that make me feel better than fall Saturdays.
Gotta cherish 'em while we can, already half way through the season with arguably the most exciting one up tonight. Go Buckeyes!

I'm pumped for this game. I've watched most of Wisco's games this year. Having Clay on my fantasy team has kept my interest and then a game against my alma mater, Arizona State. They are not a great team...

tOSU 34- Wisco 13
