Game Thread tOSU at USC, Sat. Oct. 31st, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

Wisconsin held USC to -17 yds rushing on 25 attempts. They also got 5 sacks and 9 tackles for loss. Matty P just might be licking his chops.
Which hopefully means no soft shell cover 3 to let Maiava get into rhythm.

Wisconsin continually brought edge pressure and USC didn't handle it at all.

Might want to check the weather. I saw that there is 60% chance of rain.
Well fingers crossed that it was like when I went to the SB to see the Bengals and it was supposed to be crap weather about a week out, but then was perfect the whole time. Oh well, I will pack a poncho, I've dealt with rain before at games.

Because the transitive property is so accurate in predicting the outcome of future games?

Whatever we saw week 8 isn’t going to replay exactly in week 9.

This USC team look like they are only actually interested in two things: playing offense and then only at home.

They don’t seem particularly interested in road games or defense no matter where they play.

But you know what? They have a bunch of underachieving talent that could just unfuck themselves and play up to their abilities for one game. Front runners like that only need some fake confidence, smell a little blood in the water and they change.

A true freshman starting his first time could easily make the mistake that serves as the catalyst for front runners to play well.
Well, with Sayin out I would throw out what I said completely. I am going to be happy if we just eek out a win in this win relying mostly on defense and hopefully a solid ground game...but we will need Fahey to make a few throws. I still think we beat them by 14-17 points if we play roughly to our ability - if we make a lot of mistakes and QB play is a yard sale, it is very easy to see this one being a loss or very close.

I think we still have to score 24+

They have an offense and the Wisky game isn’t going to happen again.

USC is a different team in LA

Edit: or so I thought until I actually looked into it. After typing that I had to ask myself what I based that belief on. I realized I’d heard it repeated by a lot of media members, but it wasn’t based on more than that. I don’t have more than numbers to go on, but the numbers do not support USC being significantly better at home.

It is still highly doubtful that an aberration like their performance in Madison will be repeated on Saturday

I think you guys are worrying about nothing. Patricia and Laurinaitis have the defense playing fast and mean. You can't tell me we dont have better athletes on our defense than Wisconsin. If the Offense gives us 21, GAME OVER.

4 is worth at least 7, so only need a few other buckeyes to step up to make this a comfortable win.

I have no idea of the actual numbers. Just going by how they look.

When I saw them at Rutgers and at Wisky they look like they are sleep walking. Disinterested on both sides of the ball.

At home they seem to have life and only disinterested in playing defense.

Typical front runner team in my experience. They will stay down if you make it easy for them to stay down. Give them life and you’ll get their actual best.

Instead of just a score range, I’d add no turnovers. Score 24+ without giving them a turnover and we’ll probably be ok.

Just not sold that the defense won’t do the opposite of what we say Wisky do.
