Same as always, pro passing with a complimentary rushing attack. The 1st half was a great example of what they want to do. Take some shots, audible into runs when the defense gives you a light box, RPOs. Yards and TDs were there in the 2nd half. Need to learn from mistakes and get better.
I’ve come to expect zero holding calls, but it drives me insane when those dipshits wait until the last second to call it as a troll on OSU.

I didn’t see how anyone got to the point where it’s not on the kicker?
They played offense and defense well enough to put this guy on the field in makeable range for a game winning kick.
He shit all over himself.

This board was founded with the firm practice that we would never bash players or coaches or whine in game threads. We need to pull ourselves toward ourselves and stop this. Really guys, it's enough.

That nervousness bleeds down from the top. first two plays of the 3rd quarter: two runs, 19 yards. the next 13 plays in the 3rd: 10 passes, 3 runs. Ended the 3rd and began the 4th with two straight three and outs that took a grand total of 2:30 off the clock. Day literally doesn't know what to do. He keeps changing his mind mid-stream, and suddenly the team gets indecisive as well.
Tressel would have taken the air out of the ball in the second half and strangled the Horns to death. 20 points is damn near insurmountable unless you let the other team back into the game, which is *exactly* what Ryan Day did.
I'm not saying I'm a better football coach than Day, but I can recognize a pattern.
Edit: all y'all that are defending him with the '24 run seem to have forgotten that it took Captain Jack Sawyer's heroics to beat the Horns, and that Day blew a 31-7 lead against the Irish until Jeremiah's game saving catch on 3rd and 11. It was individual efforts from the players that won those two games, NOT Ryan Day's coaching.

I don’t disagree but the guy still could have put us up by 2 scores with time winding down. It wasn’t a walk off but it would have done it

I think what kills me about this is is he’s experienced now. You’re in your eighth year; year 1 or 2 I could maybe understand “learning to be a head coach” but from a mind-blowing scale perspective, this is only rivaled by the Game in 2024. That game in an of itself should have been a lifetime lesson that prevents a game like this from ever happening and lo and behold, here the fuck we are.
How does this demonstrate an ability to adapt and learn?

I've always been a 'blame the coaches' kind of person, even going back to the Tressel years when that kind of debate first started. Because, even when it's the players, it's still the coaches job to pick the players, coach them and game plan, so, it's always the coaches.
But in this one, I don't really think Ryan Day did a bad job for most of the game. The glaring exception being the clock management at the end of the game. He should have told his players to let them score once they had the ball inside the five. That one's pretty obvious. But the rest of the game, and the 2nd half in particular, was pretty good.
I see people talking about Day 'letting his foot off the gas' and in real time, it did feel a bit like that, but in the 3rd quarter, they ran the ball 5 times, and attempted passes 10 times. Those first two runs went for 19 yards. That's hardly 'coasting to a victory.' The problem was out of those 10 pass attempts, only 3 were completed. Seven drive, and clock killing incompletions. One of those a walk in touchdown. Sayin was just off in the 2nd half, way off. Maybe that's a bit on the coaches not getting his (and the rest of the team) mind in the right place coming out of the locker room, but something definitely wasn't right.
Day might have been a bit too aggressive late in the 3rd. Ohio State got the ball with 6:52 left. There was one run and two incomplete passes on that drive. They punted with 5:56 left, taking less than one minuted off the clock. Day didn't let his foot off the gas, the car just stalled.
