Game Thread tOSU at Penn State, Sat. Nov. 2, 12pm ET, FOX

Awesome win, even better with a made up O line, I had A wedding filled, car troubled weekend in the sticks east of Cinci.
I haven,t even been able to watch the whole game. But, my first wedding for a grandchild went down, had a great time, and drank some very good bourbon. (It costs more than I would pay). And made it home in a car just moaning like a virgin on her wedding night.
PS. I woulda been somewhere watching the game, but the wife threatened to cut off my........anyway happy wife happy life.
GO BUCKEYES!

It's amazing how you wake up with extra pep in your step after a win like that, true showing of toughness and resilience from top to bottom. Here are my specific thoughts in no real order (borderline stream of consciousness) after watching the game again:

1. I keep seeing posts about the OL being the MVP of this game and seriously they are. To move that many pieces around without a true LT and play well against a defensive front like PSU, in addition to a very hostile environment that makes it almost impossible to communicate...seriously remarkable. Of course it wasn't always perfect but lets get real, PSU has a really good front 7 and all things considered that is a hell of a job. That also applies to the coaches and I give credit where it is due. Excellent utilizations of TEs/RBs to help with an aggressive defense.
2. Howard made an obviously huge mistake early on. But he had the memory of a goldfish on that mistake and showed true leadership fighting back from that. Really, really proud of him and his performance and can't-lose mentality. He did all the things winners do in a situation like that.
3. Offensive play calling was superb overall. That RPO toss play I have never seen before, but not only did they execute the run on it, they misdirected the defense for the pass. The under center plays were also really innovative. THAT is what I think we all hoped for with Chip Kelly and I hope we have that type of offense up our sleeves for the rest of the year. There were some big plays, but the focus was on moving the chains against what I consider to be an elite defense.
4. Defensive play was pretty phenomenal and coaching too. We made sure to pretty much erase #44 with Downs and in my head that was my plan heading into the game...and it worked. Then we shut down Singletary and Allen when it mattered, which is no small feat, same goes for Allar and #9 in the run game. People presume PSU doesn't have a good offense because they don't have an elite WR corps, but it is a non sequitur to me because they have weapons and a good OL.
5. Two the defensive stands, holy shit on two goal line stands! They are really hard to stop there with the guys I mentioned right above. That was the absolute definition of championship-level play from the defense.
6. Back to the offense. The utilization of Innis was just brilliant. He is obviously talented but rarely has been used because of our depth at WR. But using him on crossing routes in bunch formations under center when the defense is keying Smith/Egbuka? Seriously was a wrinkle I never saw coming and neither did PSU.
7. Good job Fielding. Gotta give your kicker a shout out when they do their job.

Great win that I will cherish for awhile and got to enjoy it with my dad. Can't ask for more. Now lets move on and not have a Purdue hangover.

Who played against Penn State you ask:

Offensive Linemen

Donovan Jackson: 64
Carson Hinzman: 64
Seth McLaughlin: 64
Tegra Tshabola: 64
Josh Fryar: 64
Austin Siereveld: Special teams only
Luke Montgomery: Special teams only
George Fitzpatrick: Special teams only
Joshua Padilla: Special teams only

Yeah, and just watch that OL (again) during "crunch time":

Best play of the game was when they put in the #2 WRs. Innis, Ballard, and Rodgers had to confuse the PSU defenders. Believe that to be a marvel of Chip coaching. Of course they were (during the week), watching tape of EE, Smith, and Tate, so when these guys came out, it was "what do we do now?" I wasn't quick enough to get it during the broadcast, and the announcers were probably wasting our time listening to the 'this is how it was yesteryear'....OL = impressive. DL unveiled things that they hadn't done - looping/twisting, whatever the nomenclature is nowadays, to cause confusion on the D. Plus they bottled up #44, only allowing him one play (or so) all day. Will played a very good game, except for that early pick six. Holding the PSU O to two field goals was huge. Also, didn't see any onerous calls by the refs (unless I missed one or two). OK, now don't let Purdue sneak up on us, and simply expect our talent level to overcome, because once again, tOSU has a target on their collective backs. Concur with RB070's hangover. Could be Day & co takes this time to play some of the 2's? Go Bucks!

I thought that package was imaginative..the first thought PSU had to have was they are in to block for a run…

GAMEDAY!!! GO BUCKS!!

I'll be following on my phone as I coach my softball girls down here in Georgia!

had about 30 of us at a BW's in Northern Georgia watching the 2nd and 3rd qtrs in between our softball games. then i had to follow the 4th qtr on my phone. I may or may not have let out a couple big "Go Bucks" and "suck it penn st" as I was getting my girls ready to battle the best team weve ever faced. Lost a tough one 6-4 but the OSU win plus how hard my girls battled made it a fantastic Sat evening in SEC country
