Sanzenbacher's Catch at the end is comparable to Gonzo's Catch in 2005.

YouTube - The Catch

I agree Sanzo's catch is definitely comparable. But Gonzo's catch was @ scum on an Epic comeback drive to take the lead after being down 2 with 4:18 in the game and 88 yards to go...

...hard to top that. Comparable, yes.

I can see why JT made the decision to kick that field goal, but what if Iowa had made that field goal that they missed by inches? The game would have gone to OT again.

And if Iowa makes theirs and Ohio State forgoes theirs and don't get the TD (against the best D-line in the country, mind you) then it's Ohio State that's on the wrong end of a 20-17 score.

When you take the points it magnifies the other team's mistakes.

I don't know why some people attack Tressel and his playcalling and conservative approach so much, when JT has proven time and time again to be money in close games like this.

It's the gift and the curse. JT recruits at a level the Big 10 envies. We are at the top of the list in NFL players. We run around top recruits every game. And then we come out and play passive, down to our competition, and sometimes put our players in positions where they may not be the most optimal (TP running the option when he doesn't like contact).

I'm not complaining, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit frustrated at times. You see some play-calls or clock management and just wonder where they came from at times. I think the baffling part is, everyone knows how good JT is, so the frustration is out of a "JT is smarter than this, what's going on?" place. It's easy to point at his recprd and say, just trust him.

It's also easy to point at the talent he has had and say, how did that happen?

I love him, wouldn't take another coach in the country. But I understand the criticism at times when you feel like he's won a game that was way too close to begin with. Or a team like Wisconsin seemingly sneaks up on us even though we have way more talent and know they're going to be ready to play. The slow starts this year have been disappointing. For whatever reason they've come out of the gate slow but been able to overcome against teams like Penn State and Iowa.

I realize that the announcers have to talk about something, but prasing Ferentz for his "outstanding" record at Iowa (88-59, .599 winning percentage) is going a little too far. The last coach who left Ohio State winning only 60% of his games? Wes Fesler in 1950 (21-13-3, .608 winning percentage).

One of the worst jobs of officiating ever. At least a bad call finally went Ohio State's way at the end of the game (the hit by Hines).

the argument against Tressel's conservative style is that way too many games are close BECAUSE of it. OSU dodged a bullet tonight. So we should celebrate. But Iowa is simply not a very good team....they are decent, but not really good.

Really? Well that decent team gave our top 10 a hell of a game. Don't get it twisted Iowa has lost alot of close games this year and they are a good football team. Iowa always plays us tough.

Tressel ball won us this game. It didn't almost lose it.
