Hrm. Must not have noticed. The only B10 game I've been able to watch in its entirety is the Indiana game. Didn't notice the zone watching the 2nd half of the UM game or listening to the first half of the Minnesota game.

The only time OSU's zone really works is when the other team is cold. If Hummel was 3-10, which is his average, the zone would be considered a success, even though he would have gotten a ton of open looks. The zone was a smart idea. Purdue isnt that great from 3. However, when its clear that the zone isnt working there was no adjustment. No timeouts. And the fact that Matta doesnt have a technical yet in my mind is a problem. Purdue player knocking the ball away, calling timeout with turner grabbing the ball, landing on dallas's foot and getting a foul call, stepping out of bounds on a layup, the countless bumps and grabs to guard Turner and Diebler, the sketchy travel call. Matta should be on the court screaming. He should have taken the T, fired up the team, gotten in the refs minds. I just feel bad because its clear that OSU has the talent to beat this team.

Agree with the majority of the post, but this is absurd.

People have got to stop overrating this team. No scarlet glass...I honestly don't see that much talent, let alone the capability to play smartly (ala Northwestern) and make up for some deficiencies (i.e. turnovers).

As I type the team battles back...but I'd still like to see some defense.

Yeah this team is incomplete - especially on the bench and in the middle. I think Matta's substitution patterns reflect this a lot too....

that said, they CAN win this game, but they can't trade baskets with Purdue, they have to get a sustained run going here eventually.
