tOSU +5.5 at Duke (ov/un 142.5) Wed 9:30 ESPN

despite the imminent loss, i take a ton of positives from today's game. we're far from a finished product but still took it to the nation's arguably #1 team on their own court, where they haven't lost to a non-conference foe in a long, long time.

we have soooooo much room for improvement. that's a good thing. you won't want to face us in march.

Shooting % has gotten any better this half.....still at 32%.

Duke must be shooting 60% this half...

OSU was also crashing the boards like mad in the 1st half. 32% isn't bad when you shoot 30+ shots in a half. 32% is bad when you shoot 15 shots in a half. It's all about points.

Right now, OSU has exactly one scoring option. When Thomas isn't hitting or even taking shots, like he wasn't in the second half, there is no other option (at least, not with Ross sitting on the bench). I honestly think that on an off day for Thomas, this OSU team would be lucky to make it to the Sweet 16. Just not enough weapons on offense.

Which has been the story of every Ohio State team except for last year and 2006 under Matta. Even when they have the weapons, it's all perimeter oriented for some odd reason and eventually everyone will go cold. When they have a plus player in the post, that's when they tend to thrive both in the Big Ten and in the NCAAs. I don't see that they have a plus player in the post this year. This might only be a sweet 16 team, but time will tell.

Going into the game, I was worried about who would score outside of Thomas--where else would the offense come from?

After tonight, that concern is still there, if not more so.
