I don't think there is a fanbase out there that doesn't bitch about officiating. I definitely gripe about during the game and sometimes for a bit after the game, but big picture, I agree with JT's stance. If you put yourself in a position where one call can cost you the game, you didn't play well enough to win.
I think much of the frustration over the last two losses is that we all drank the preseason cool aid. We were predicted to be one of those elite teams - and right now we simply aren't. To be sure, we have not played our best ball in the past few weeks - which is unusual for a Matta team.
But getting the ball into Sully and back out to our scorers isn't working like it did earlier. Buford's struggles are clearly part of that. And it is easy to argue that Matta has not been successful in countering some of the defenses that have been thrown at him recently - be that the fault of the players or the staff.
Most frustratingly for me is the inconsistent intensity on D. Matta called it earlier in the year when he spoke of inconsistency in practice - due in large part to the predominance of younger players.
When I go insane is when folks suggest that if somebody like Ross plays in lieu of Buford the team will play just the same except the 3's will start dropping.
Our D was absolutely smothering at times against both UM and MSU. If we played that same D for 40 minutes we have a two game lead in the conference standings.

Eh, all this UM love is a bit over the top, if you ask me. They barely eked out a win at home against a struggling OSU team. The next time UM beats a decent team on the road or on a neutral floor will be the first. As an example, they lost on the road to Arkansas recently, a team that just was absolutely pounded by 30 at home by Florida.
