I'm torn on the no-touch icing. I know it's supposed to be done in order to prevent injuries from skaters colliding hard into the boards to negate the icing, but I think there should be more latitude given to the officials in order to use their judgment on whether or not the intent was there for a pass and not just dumping it down the ice. At the same time, the CCHA officials are so bad it might not be wise to give them judgment calls. I'm sure someone will get screwed.
At the same time, I think one thing college hockey needs to do in order to become more mainstream is to try and become uniform with NHL rules. I'd like to see ice rink's in the NCAA get a mandated size. If that happens, touch up icing might help the game grow. Certainly makes it more interesting. Probably shortens the game a bit too.
