tOSU -3.5 at Illinois (ov/un 141.5), Sat 2:15 BTN

The problem is I think our leaders are lead by example types which means when they aren't having a good game there isn't much leadership. We don't have any of the KG type leaders that demand the effort from their teamates as well.

Do you see a lack of effort? I really don't.

Craft, Smith Jr., Thompson, Scott....these guys all played their asses off today. They just have huge glaring weaknesses as a team that are extremely difficult to rake leaves over. If you can't shoot, you can't shoot.

I really want the voters to drop OSU out of the top 25 after this loss. I know it won't happen (we'll likely be between 18-25), but I think its what this team needs to really help wake them up. Matta at least needs to let them know they don't belong in the rankings, and don't belong in the NCAA tourney, either, based on their performance so far. They're simply not doing what they need to do.

Tough to watch

Illi knocking down contested , deep 3's left & right. All I could think was, So this Is how teams felt when Lighty , Diebler & Buford were on the perimeter for us:wink2:

I've been really disappointed In Lenzelle's play. With his experience from last year I would think he could help settle the team down In touch stretches. He seems to prefer to just launch 3's when he should be In attack mode 24/7

Ross looked really bad out there ...I've been on the "play him more" train & still am. There's no other option , The starting 5 out there will continue to struggle to score. Ross has a reputation as being a shooter & potential to create. Throw him Into the fire , Let's see If he plays through It and starts to play well

The thing that worries/bothers me the most is the lack of improvement among everyone not named Scott or Thompson to some degree. Craft has regressed on offense and the others haven't improved like we had hoped. Fortunately, there is plenty of time and I think this team still has tons of potential.

My main takeaway: I'm glad they got smacked and now they know that they need to put in the extra effort to get better or else.

Also, makes me appreciate Diebler, Lighty, Turner, and Sullinger even more

Well, the question for this team is now, what do they deserve?

When you are shooting less than 30% from the field, the problem is in your head. So, Buckeyes, how hungry are you? What are you prepared to do to play to your potential?

Just not as good this year as they've been the last 5 years or so. Straight up just not the same. No longer Elite.
Not ready to say that at all. Probably not as good as the last two years but let's not forget those Lighty, Diebler, and Turner teams got their asses beat a couple of times.

Just got home and watched the replay. Awful

This team is so undisciplined it hurts. I know Matta is not teaching that and he's pissed about it I'm quite sure. They just lose their minds during the game. So, if asked straight up, I'd have to say I do see a lack of effort. If they are at least selling out as much as Craft, ON BOTH ENDS, you can handle a defeat more. Guys cherry picking and not crashing the boards, not boxing out, not finding the wide open player in transition..... thats terrible discipline.

Everyone knows we need another scorer, but everyone throwing crap up during a crucial time is a serious lack of discipline. Scott and Craft have to be on the court together and we need to play full court. The half court game on both ends is not good enough to win in the BiG.
