Proud of the team with this performance

Thought Matta could have tweaked the line up a little as the game went on but that's ok. The biggest thing that stood out to me today was Deshaun , He's here to stay and play big time in big games

We may have competed better in the post if this was not the first game without Sully..the team needed to find out how to play without Sully..though it was good for Williams getting some PT. I'm a little dissapointed Scott hasn't been able to contribute more. Its amazing to me how Craft could compete from day one..he is a playa:)

Just finished blowing thru my DVR recording of this game and Sully's absence really sucked the life out of it for me. :ohwell:

Let me say this...who do I have to write the check to for a rematch, with a full squad, against these cocksuckers in March? Robinson has a few imprints of "SPALDING" on his forehead coming his way courtesy of Sully.

Fuck Kansas. :pissed:

I wish we would have played Thompson and Weatherspoon a bit more. Really happy how Buford recovered in the second half, that shows heart and strength. Unfortunate for him that the last two big games played away from home he has really struggled. I have not seen too much from Sibert in game - he has really struggled with his shot and may not be big enough on the defensive end. I would personally rather see more of Smith, Thompson, and Weatherspoon and a little less of Sibert. Looking forward to Ross A LOT!

Missed the game for a family emergency. Having seen no highlights and read no recaps, I'm impressed with what the Buckeyes were able to do. This is going to make the guys around Sullinger better down the stretch.

Diddo, I missed it cuz I had an Accounting Final.

Without Sully, super impressed with our effort today. Sure we missed some uncontested shots, but I really love the effort. I am proud of what our Bucks did regardless today but especially after watching that thug melee in Cincinnati, gotta say I'm incredibly proud of our young men. Great athletes, great heads on our shoulders, and we are really going to be great down the stretch when Sully is healthy. Went down to Pullman, Washington today to root them on and I couldn't be more proud of my Buckeyes today despite the outcome. :oh:

It looked to me like the OSU defenders frequently either miscommunicated or were slow with their defensive switches on ball screens. I'd need to watch again to be sure, but it seemed like many times, both the screen defender and the ball defender followed the ball, leaving either an open pick & roll or an open perimeter shooter with one more pass. Kansas shot well, but the number of clean looks they got off of ball screens may have got them going.

On the road without our best player, the other guys shoot damn near 60% the whole game, OSU shoots about 30% the whole game and its never more than 5-10 pt spread.

Neutral site plus a healthy Sullinger and I'll tip my cap to them if they can replicate that kind of shooting disparity.

Fair points, and I think OSU with Sullinger is probably the better team, on average. But I don't think the shooting disparity was just a matter of Kansas having the hot hand, and OSU not; Kansas was able to get better looks at the basket than OSU was, generally.

No doubt.

Sullingers absence let them get a lot of high % shots and if were out in a rematch I'd expect them to dominate inside again.

That said, Sullinger or no Sullinger OSU's outside shooting was ice cold. I'd be willing to wager a fair sum that KU couldn't get the shooting % that low again.

If they couldn't blow us out with that kind of disparity, at home and sans Sullinger I really like our chances in a neutral court rematch.

Yep, I think OSU's the better team with Sullinger, on average. But I was pretty impressed with Kansas's perimeter defense as well, and think it had something (not everything, but something) to do with OSU's poor shooting. Where Sullinger really changes the equation in my view is, they probably wouldn't have been able to be nearly as aggressive in their perimeter defense as they were, if he'd been setting up shop in the post to receive the entry pass.
