tOSU -1.5 at Wisconsin (ov/un 122.5) Sat 2 ET, ESPN

Offense to offense, the teams match up. Defensively, the Buckeyes are much tougher than the Badgers.

They'll be rocking that place. Expect lots of chatter (over-rated, same as football), if Wisky gets the lead.

Coach Matta and the guys have a chance to get even here. To reverse a trend at Kohl, just like the trend in football for SEC bowl games.

I like the Buckeyes to go in hunting bear, but settling for badger.

^^I agree. The Purdue game is evidence..they're a very good team and got straight up destroyed.

I honestly think all we have to do is start just as fast as we did vs Purdue. If we do that we force them to play much faster than they want, and we can then dictate who we allow to get theirs. If they're playing from behind the entire game, the crowd won't be too tough to deal with and all we'd have to do then is tighten up on Taylor since he's really the only one that could win the game by himself.

But we must start fast and get them out of this bull[Mark May] "last 15 seconds" garbage. Craft has to stay out of foul trouble to guard Taylor and Sully will likely be doubled most of the game as Wiscy's best game plan is to make Diebler, Buford and Lighty beat them from the perimeter, so our shooters need to be on. IMO, if this game is in the 60-ish possession range and comes down to foul shooting, it could be a rough night in Madison..again.

Now would be a really good time for this team to play its most complete game :oh:

For sure. But Wiscy plays the style needed to beat us better than anyone and it's at their place..seems a much more difficult test to me.

I do think Wiscy's style is exactly what other teams have tried to do to us (and nearly been successful at times), but if we shoot anywhere near how we shot against Purdue from the outside, I think we'll be fine. I think we have the defense to stop UW. Craft has proven the ability to shut down a high scoring guard, and post play is not Wiscy's strong suit. Stopping Nankivil is the key.

This is the most complete team I have ever seen the Bucks have on the hardwood, including the Oden/Conley team. As great as Conley was, I think the offense never gelled. The half court offesne always felt so deliberate trying to work the ball through Oden, maybe due to the games he missed. Moving the offense through Sully seems to come naturally.

I do think it would be best if they dump a game before the tourney (or maybe in the B10 tourney a la Izzo's standard practice), but not this one. I #@(&$%)(* hate Wiscy basketball almost as much as Minnesota basketball, and more than any other team.

Why the Buckeyes will win this game:

(1) The Buckeyes have played better on the road than at home this year. They rise to the occasion and enjoy the challenge of a hostile crowd.

(2) Similarly, the Bucks have played better against tougher opponents, such as Florida, Florida State and Purdue. It is the flip side of playing down to a lesser opponent. These guys show up for the big time.

(3) The veteran leadership on this team may be the best in the country. They know how to play in the limelight, and know how to play in big road games.

(4) Bucks have too many offensive weapons for the buzzcuts to handle. Inside outside, and inside-out they will find the man with the hot hand and he will score.

(5) Bucks have a chip on their shoulder. They are given some respect around the country, but if the players are reading the clippings around the country they are seeing that many don?t think they have played a tough schedule and are overrated. This motivates a team like no other.

(6) Defense, defense, defense. This is the best defensive team we have had in Columbus for many moons. Buckeyes will hold Wisky down to a lower shooting percentage and lower point total than average.

(7) Thad has a week to gameplan this contest, and I have faith that the extra time for film study and practice will fall in the Buck?s favor.

(8) Karma, beeyotch. We owe that school a serious beatdown. Saturday is the time, and Madison is the place.

Can I have a witness???!!

This is actually my biggest concern. The last time the team had a break longer than 5 days between games was the IUPU game. If I remember correctly, that was a rather uninspiring performance by the team as a whole. Yes, Sullinger scored 40, but as a whole, probably one of the worst performances by the team this season.

That was also against IUPUI, not against Wisconsin. The team will not go into Madison uninspired...

After watching the game with wiscy and iowa i think Ohio State can handle wisconsin. I am hopng our defense can shut them down, especially the big drink of water down low. I can't think of his name right now. But maybe wisconsin was looking ahead to our game sunday and that was the reason for thier style of play against Iowa.

Leuer will be a load - but I don't agree that we have to stop him. If we can stop Taylor - and we can stop Taylor - Leuer is not enough to beat us. As sated about we have too many weapons even for Wisky.

If we are in sync I like our chances.

BTW - would anybody like to take a guess who is our most prolific scorer based on points per minute played right now?

OK, it's Sullinger - who did you think?

But if you project it out to a 40 minute game he is averaging only .22 points more per game than Deshaun Thomas.
