That's true, but he'll still have to get a staff together though. He'll also have some recruiting work to do even if it's not contacting recruits. Get to know the committed guys, get a better feel for targets (don't forget that while he's recruited Texas the past 3 years, ohio state only goes for top echelon guys while he would be looking in the much lower guys in Texas now). I have no clue how much of that could realistically be done if we were to win and he would have no true free time until the 13th.

I guess I'll be the first then.. I'll throw my hat in the ring for the open OC job.

Undefeated since forever on NCAA 2014, a refusal to have nothing less than 4 separate 100 yard rushers per game, and a uncanny ability to run the no huddle from one formation and score 80 points a game. Oh I forgot I haven't punted and nor will I ever, fuck their feelings that's my philosophy.

One other option for Urban. I also can be your DC as well. I'm a little blitz heavy but my teams the last 3 years have held teams to NEGATIVE yardage per game on the ground and only 120 through the air. No big deal though It's just how I roll.

I'll do all of this for 50k a year, a continuous supply of diet coke, and if you can give me benefits that get me the whole 20 dollars off my gym membership that'd be great.

Serious side note, It's good to see he's sticking around until this years ride is over.

Correct on the dead period and all but he could have been putting together a plan on who to recruit prior to Jan 15th, hire a staff, move to Houston, etc...

I am glad he will be coaching through the championship game as it makes sense, but to say that he couldn't recruit unitl Jan 15th as a reason he'd stay on through a championship game rings hollow for me as there are so many other things to get done prior to that date.
