Tom Herman (Former Head Coach FAU Owls)

If Helfrich gets ousted, is Oregon a possibility?

I think that it's somewhere in TX or back to tOSU should that open when he's looking... and frankly, I think that the second option is as much a matter of the tint of my scarlet colored glasses as much as anything. As with anyone, I'm sure that there's a price that could be set that would pull him out of TX, and with the job he's doing, he's likely starting to approach those kind of prices.

If I was Tom Herman, I'd stay at Houston, bank my 4 million a year or whatever insanely desperate salary they can come up with, win a [Mark May]load of games, and wait for a position to open up at a top program where the boosters are sane. In other words, I'd wait for Urban to retire.
It would be cool to see Herman win a Natty in his first year in Columbus 10 years from now. But it ain't gonna happen that way.

TOM HERMAN SAYS URBAN MEYER WOULD WHOOP JIM HARBAUGH

75061_h_0.jpg,qitok=2_WSmL2h.pagespeed.ce.8ole-drBsK.jpg

It's Friday, folks, which means it's time to tackle the hard-pressing questions of the day, like could Urban Meyer whip Jim Harbaugh in a title fight?

Such was the humorous question poised by Dan Patrick during his radio show to Houston coach Tom Herman.

Herman, who worked as Meyer's offensive coordinator for three seasons in Columbus, tabbed his former boss in the fictional title fight.

.
But in 1997 as a member of the Indianapolis Colts, Harbaugh broke his hand punching Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly. This shows Harbaugh either can't throw a proper punch or has brittle bones, despite his whole milk intake.

Houston officials talking ‘reasonable’ extension for Tom Herman

With Big 12 expansion off the table, most observers see Tom Herman not being long for the Houston job. Still, the university is doing, or will do, its best to hang on to a man who will be one of the hottest commodities on the next spinning of the coaching carousel.

I don't think that a "reasonable by AAC standards" contract will keep him.

Browning and Wilson to UT and others if true.

Any new regime has a recruiting tail wind. But TH with his Texas connections and swagger coupled with a strong desire by many in the Lone Star state to see that program back on top and you can bet he will make a splash with his first class albeit a shortened cycle. Much like Urbs first short cycle at tOSU.

Agreed. I just hope Tom isn't walking into a death trap. Strong was a much more accomplished coach when he got the job at Texas, and look how that turned out.
