So, hang out in H-town for about another ten years or so, then come back to Columbus when Coach Meyer is tired of gathering rings and trophies? Sounds like a plan.Herman on the Doug Gottlieb show. All but said point blank he'd be in Houston until a big dog comes calling, but won't be leaving for anything less.

"I like winning, Doug. Our league has separated itself as the premier non Power 5 conference in the country and the way the system is set up currently, if you win the AAC you're going to go to a New Years Six bowl game. I think that if you're not at one of those schools that can perpetually compete for a national championship then winning 11, 12, 13, 14 ballgames a year, a lot of trophies, a lot of rings, and New Years Day bowl games all in the greatest city on Earth, I think that's a pretty enticing endeavor.
I don't think that there are many places, at least not the ones that called me, that you can say, 'Hey, if we go win em' all, or win all but one or two, then we're gonna go to the playoff and have a chance for the national championship.' ... Rather than toil through 7-5 and 8-4 seasons, maybe on your way where a certain school has a ceiling, this place has no ceiling -- the ceiling here is undefeated, really, and if undefeated doesn't get us in the Final Four I understand that. ... Most every school save for eight to ten in the entire country ... the ceiling is not that."
I missed this news earlier, but Herman did indeed flip 4* QB/ATH D'Eriq King from TCU to Houston, securing the commitment on Christmas Eve. King held offers from Cal, UCLA, Baylor, TCU, Clemson, and Michigan St, among others, and had been committed to TCU since January.
